I liked the simplicity of the backgrounds in these two images. The sun was getting low and I shot with a higher ISO and I probably increased the exposure so the images were pretty washed out. I used the dehazer slider to the max. But that's what saved these pics.

I have had to drive by this barn literally hundreds of times and last night was the first time I saw it. The owner's brother came out when I was photographing but unfortunately, he did not know the history or the circa date.

Back to taking another flower photo for today. Used a low exposure on my camera which made the flower stand out with the sun shine through the window.

Low-Key, I am really getting to like low light photography, especially for B&W. I did shoot this at an 8-second exposure so the exposure is higher but I personally still like this one better ;-)

I went yesterday afternoon hoping to do slow shutter work of a covered bridge when it was a cloud covered sky. So far, I think those shots are boring. These falls were about 10 miles south and I sort of broke speed limits to get to the falls before it was dark. I barely made it. These falls are impressive and I took a staircase up the mountain as this waterfall is very high and winds up through the mountain but by the time I got up higher it was dark. It was pretty spooky being out there in the woods by myself when this park is pitch black ;-)

To add insult to injury, just as I came off the wooded path some man came running straight toward me. He scared me to death! I thought, "That's it! I am going to get stabbed 35 times and my body will be tossed in the woods." LOL

I tripped from being startled and the guy said, "Are you ok?" I felt like saying ah "No, you creep! Who runs straight toward anyone in an isolated park when it is total darkness?!!." It was so dark when he went toward the path I had just left, I couldn't see him at all.

So I got to my SUV as quickly as I could. I realized there was only one other car left in the parking lot I assumed it belonged to the guy I encountered. Here again, it was so dark it was hard to even see that car. I was so unnerved and trying to get into my SUV quickly I tossed my keys carelessly into the car. When I got in I immediately locked the doors and realized I lost my keys. This is when I thought of how stupid people were in horror films and I always yell at the person that does something stupid that will get them murdered. (Now I understand when you are scared out of your mind, people do stupid things LOL) So there I was thinking, "Shit! Shit! Maybe I dropped my keys on the ground but if I get out this guy could be a psycho killer and I am done." So the idiot I am, I jumped out quick and got on my knees and felt around on the ground. When I didn't find them there I quickly shut the door and I thought, in horror films this is when the guy will come and smash out my windows. After some time of looking everywhere, I found my keys stuck in the electronics on the side of the passenger seat.

I was never so happy to start up my SUV and get the hell out of there as fast as I could. lol

The Church in the Name of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a functioning Orthodox church in the Nevsky Forest Park of the Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad

History

The temple is a recreated copy of the Intercession Church built in 1708, which was located until 1963 in Vytegorsky churchyard in Anhimov. The restoration project was developed by Alexander Opoolnikov immediately after the death of the temple according to measurements made by him in 1956. However, in the same place the temple was never built.

The restoration of the church in a new place was carried out with the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and with the support of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On November 16, 2003, a worship cross was erected at the site of the reconstruction of the temple. The cross was consecrated by Metropolitan Vladimir (Kotlyarov). On October 26, 2004, Archpriest Gennady Zverev served a moleben in honor of the beginning of the construction of the Intercession Church. On this day, the first pile was hammered into the foundation of the future temple, and in December of that year, the foundation of the temple began to be filled.

Work on logging and cutting down the main array of walls was started in the suburbs of Petrozavodsk in December 2004. The domes and shares of the church were also made there. In March 2005, work began on the felling of the walls of the bell tower. Upon reaching the 18th crown of the church log house in April 2005, the log house was transported to the Nevsky Forest Park, where the construction of the foundation was completed. The crowns were delivered to the construction site on May 8, 2005. The laying of the first crown took place on June 3.

The solemn laying of the temple took place on October 4, 2005 by Metropolitan Vladimir. The foundation stones were laid with stones from the foundation of the burnt Pokrov church of Vytegorsky churchyard. A prayer service was held on January 26, 2006 on the occasion of laying the bell tower, on April 27, the laying of the first crown was consecrated. On July 26, a cross was erected on the main glavka. On October 14, a small consecration of the church took place. Archpriest Gennady Zverev led it. The consecration of the church according to the rank of bishop, led by Metropolitan Vladimir of St. Petersburg and Ladoga (Kotlyarov), took place on October 14, 2008.

Architecture, decoration [edit | edit code]

The church at the base has the shape of a cross. The length of the temple is 32 meters, width - 30 meters, height - 19 meters. The church has 25 chapters.

The main volume of the temple is a vast octagon, to which piers are attached on four sides. The eastern crib - the main altar - pentahedral. Nearby altars, attached from the east to the northern and southern cantonments also have a pentagonal shape. The outer walls of the altars are carved, according to the ancient tradition of temple construction, as a tribute to the special veneration of the seat of the throne.

On each log is two barrels towering one above the other. The main octagon is covered with eight barrels: their heads complete the edges of the octagon, and the skates abut against the second, higher, smaller octagon.

The temple has 22 windows arranged in two rows. From the west, a tented porch adjoins the cathedral, which serves as the main entrance and exit.

The main altar is consecrated in the name of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, and the right (south) and left (north) in honor of St. up and the gospel. John the Evangelist and St. vlmch. St. George the Victorious (not yet consecrated). The four-tier iconostasis painted in tables (for now, instead of written icons, there are sketches). The ceiling is made by "sky".

The bell shows the martyrs Boris and Gleb.

In the basement of the building are the premises of the Orthodox Sunday school, refectory, etc.

On November 16, 2003, the altar gospel was transmitted to the church, printed in 1701 by decree of Peter I in the Moscow printing house for the Intercession Church of Vytegorsky Pogost; the church icon of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary (a copy of the 21st century, the original of the Intercession icon is in the storerooms of the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg); The Azov Icon of the Mother of God (a copy of the 21st century, the original icon is in the Vytegorsky Museum of Local Lore); “Savior on the birch bark” (chapel of the churchyard, copy of the icon “Savior from the Zvenigorod rank”); Solovetsky Cross; revered icons of the Assumption of the Mother of God and St. passion bearers Boris and Gleb.

1. Taking pictures a tool (camera), not a photographer.

2. The choice of tool limits the possibilities.

3. Experience allows him (instrument) less and less to limit their capabilities.

4. The ability to see is given only when the observer allows ...

5. The moment of observation is the real find ...

6. Training and mastering it defies. Training leads to poor imitations of the original.

7. Often the result should ripen, like wine. Although time is the understanding of the mind, therefore it is very speculative.

8. The meaning of all this is the process!

9. Let it be!
