R.J. Corman Memphis Line job ML22 crosses Morgantown Road on the northeast side of Russellville, KY. This was the site of the fatal 1946 accident involving the southbound Memphis section of the Pan American. The accident occurred when the Memphis Pan struck a lowboy flatbed trailer carrying a steam shovel for a dam project that had gotten stuck on the crossing. The ensuing collision resulted in the deaths of the engineer and fireman. January 14, 2023.

Zaanse Schans is best known for its collection of windmills and wooden houses that were relocated here from the wider region north of Amsterdam for preservation. From 1961 to 1974, old buildings from all over the region known as the Zaanstreek were relocated using lowboy trailers to the Zaanse Schans. Two of the windmills in the Zaanse Schans are preserved in their original site where they were first constructed, and therefore don't make up part of the relocated structures. The Zaans Museum, established in 1994, near the first Zaanse Schans windmill, is located south of the neighbourhood. This architectural reserve for Zaanse timber construction is a protected village scene because of its architectural-historical and landscape value. It developed into an international tourist destination with several million visitors every year

This trio of cabooses sit at the east end of the Erman Corp. Scrap Yard in KCK. Over the course of the last few decades a few different ones have filed in and out after they found new owners. This is basically a private collection. The MP short bay window road caboose is the most recent addition, having been trucked up here on a lowboy from Texas a couple years back.

The KCS is a very unique Darby Corp. stainless steel car on high speed Rockwell trucks, one of only a handful of survivors. The BN is a fairly run of the mill road caboose.

Erman is known for cutting up thousands of pieces of equipment over the years from UP Big Blow Turbines in the 70's and 80's to aluminum coal gons now.

Our drive home took us thru Paris, MO where we stumbled upon the results of an NS train hitting a lowboy trailer hauling a grain silo. Both engines and 10-12 cars derailed in the train. The road barricades are up but Hulcher has yet to arrive on the scene. Pictures were taken with permission of the State Troopers on the scene. I avoided the NS hardhats as I know they are in for a long night of cleanup ahead.

I was at the CSX Rail Yard in Cayce, South Carolina when I noticed a high and wide load about to come out of Martin Marietta Materials on State Street. I positioned myself to get him turning out of the quarry to the left and managed to frame both the tractor and the load in the view finder. M & W Transport out of Lexington, South Carolina was in charge of the haul.
