The Lovin' Spoonful were a folk-rock band formed in New York City in 1964 and were among the most popular groups in the mid 1960's. Starting with their debut single 'Do You Believe in Magic?' they produced seven consecutive recordings that reached the Top 10.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Spoonful'. These two snails certainly looked quite loved-up! I picked up this small spoon at a charity shop, figuring it might come in useful for macro - the bowl of the spoon is 3.7cm across so the image spans about 5.7cm.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
I have always thought that the female Northern Cardinal was much prettier than the beloved male. After editing this morning’s shot, I am convinced of it after seeing her red eyebrows for the first time.

My first admission for the Crazy Tuesday group - Silver
My silver spoon again. This time with some pretty little flowers.
I bought the spoon from a local Fair trade shop. It was made in Laos from aluminium salvaged from deactivated unexploded bombs dropped on their province during the secret war which took place between 1964 and 1973.
A percentage of the money from the sale of these spoons goes to a charity to help young disadvantaged Laotians further their education.

Temperatures have been brutally cold here all weekend. It is the kind of weather warm, baggy clothing, and cuddling up were invented for in the great white north. I found Flea nestled in among the pillows on the bed when I finished my morning workout. She was so comfortable that she didn't leave the bed to follow me when I went to grab my camera. I swear this dog understands the value of a lazy Sunday morning on a cold winter's day and it makes me love her even more.

It was three years ago this July that I hung-up these steel toe work boots and retired at the age of sixty-one. At first, I was kind of apprehensive about making that leap, but now three years later, I have no regrets... I’m lovin’ retirement.

A crappy day outside today, so I finished a book and did a quick still-life. This “Lovin’ Spoonful” is 'Cranberry Lover’s Tea' from Gong Fu Tea in Des Moines. It’s a blend of honeybush and rooibos along with mountain bush cranberries, little rose buds a a few pink sugar hearts. One of my favorites.
