"When we don’t have information, we go to the simplest outlook, to black and white. But then we have to lie to ourselves. Black is never as black as you’re painting it and white is never as white". – Patricia Sun

I have been going to the North Pine Dam for a sunset capture since April 2020 and have come home with nothing. Simply the sky was just not there for a sunset photo.

Sometimes I was on my own and sometimes I had company. On this given evening I had good company. I knew that I would take a good capture because the composition of the sky was saying so.

We watched the sun set ever so slowly with the dead tree that has been standing in this dam for as long as I have been photographing sunsets there.

I love sunsets, the way the warm sunset light transforms and disperses through the clouds as each minute goes by is mesmerising, and it makes it all the more special when you have great company with you like I did on this evening!

This sunset capture is best in black and white due to the way the sunset light was being dispersed through the clouds!

I love sunsets... but this one is one of my favorites!

This beach was a stand in location for Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry in The Bond movie Die Another Day. Not bad for a beach that's not on the tourist radar! Unspoilt and relatively unused, and no I'm not telling you where it is 😉

NO INVITES and GRAPHICS please!!! I appreciate and would really be happy to see your personal comments :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Have a GREAT day my FRIENDS!!!

Montreal in the background. Photo taken from the South-Shore.

Turning away from Four Peaks after the previous shot, toward the setting sun, and this is what I witness. You've got to love sunsets/sunrises in AZ.

Clouds love sunsets.

The golf was beautiful and hard and the temperatures wonderful. Love sunsets in the mountains.

Untermyer Park and Gardens is a historic 43-acre (17 ha) city public park, located in Yonkers, New York in Westchester County, just north of New York City. The park is a remnant of Samuel Untermyer's 150-acre (61 ha) estate "Greystone". Situated on the steep land arising from the eastern bank of the Hudson River to the bluff on top of it, the park features a Walled Garden inspired by ancient Indo-Persian gardens, a small Grecian-style open-air amphitheater with two facing sphynxes supported by tall Ionic columns, a classical pavilion, stoa and loggias, a rock-and-water feature called "THE TEMPLE OF LOVE", as well as a long staircase from the Walled Garden to an Overlook with views of the river and the Palisades.

I love sunsets and sunrises. The weather on Xmas day was exceptional in South Florida. This particular shot is a HDR composite taken approximately 20-25 minutes after the sun set below the horizon. The colors just kept getting brighter with every minute. Some of you may recognize the location. It is Everglades Holiday Park, home of the TV reality series on Animal Planet appropriately named "Gator Boys." For those wondering, the answer is "YES," a few of the critters were lurking close by, unnerving avid photographers. In reality, the mosquitoes were more pesky than the gators.

More Sunsets yay! Love Sunsets.

More textured photography. Took this picture through the back window of Nick's truck. Nick picked me up from class the other day so I was able to take some cool pictures during the drive home.

You love sunset but I love your cameras and tripods. :)))

See you tomorrow mister Sun. Greetings people and thanks for the visit!

Have a great day and stay well, everyone. 😃😃

This one is from my archive, from our trip to Chattanooga. It was such a colorful sunset! Right after a brief shower, the skies cleared long enough for us to be treated with wonderful sunset. It was one of those sunsets that the best colors came after the sun was down. It developed slowly and then intensified into vibrants shades. I love sunsets like that. It is always exciting to see how it will turn out.

Thank you everyone for dropping bye! Thank you for the big fave!

Happy Valentine's Day 💖

This is the "Mighty Mac," the Mackinac Bridge that spans the straits between the lower and upper peninsula of Michigan.

For those that are following me and my work, you are acquainted with the fact that I just love sunsets...and in particular, sunsets over a body of water. So pretty with the sun reflecting on the water. It's not the prettiest of sunsets: Canada's wildfires have still been causing a lot of smoke and poor air quality down in the states...and smoke does not make for a very pretty sunset, unfortunately! Hope you all enjoy!

At first glance even before I knew it's name Cathedral Mountain I thought that this is my church...This amazing sight overwhelmed me, it was like a great gothic structure. There was buttresses, pillars, and towers supporting weights like a vast piece of architecture.

I love sunsets mostly because they remind me we don't live in perpetual darkness (from whatever loss or struggle we may be going through) the sun always finds its way back and for that we should be grateful.

I was camped here behind this mountain and couldn't believe how long the golden glow lasted, it seemed to go on forever...

For my Dad who has a birthday coming up in heaven, and my uncle Terry who recently joined him.

I love sunsets, nightscapes and sunrises. The light is just gorgeous. This is just one of a couple of spectacular sunsets my wife and I caught in early Sept. at Grand Teton National Park. Hope you enjoy! If you do, wait for postings of the other sunset.

A certain kind of light...I love sunsets and sunrises and clouds. Few tall buildings, a flat landscape and little pollution, gives us ample opportunity for pretty skies.

So, this is about five minutes before the previous shot. The sun is breaking through the clouds, burning off the mist in the valley, clearing the air. I started trying this composition a few times before I moved on to a modified version of this in the other photo. The mountains in the morning are amazing, and I am beginning to see potentials for this...Sunrise photography as much as I love Sunsets these are a very different feeling. As I learn more tricks, and editing techniques I will continue improving the quality of these, give me a shout out if you have comments, questions or critiques!

I am really starting to think filters are just a requirement for serious landscape photography.

Just beyond the sunset

Someone waits for me

Just beyond the sunset

Lies my destiny

Where the purple mountains

Lie in deep tranquility

There I’ll find the treasure

Of love eternally

I love sunsets just as much as I love sunrise. Sunsets can be viewed anywhere in the world but it always has a different characteristic in each place and at a certain time. This one is some kind of special to me as it is my first winter sunset shot in the city of Seoul and was taken without having thought of shooting it when I stepped out of the hotel.
