I miss Paris so much....

I just loved structure, geometry and the setting.

The Obelisk located on Killiney Hill, in Killiney Hill Park Dublin, Ireland.

The Killiney Obelisk is one of the most prominent and best loved structures in Co Dublin. Built in 1742 on the crown of Killiney Hill by John Mapas, it was completely restored in 2008 by Howley Hayes. The Obelisk provides a dominant landmark from land and sea. It also marks one of the most stunning panoramic views in Ireland, with Killiney Bay and the Wicklow Mountains to the South, Dalkey Hill and Island to the North, the Irish Sea to the East and Dublin to the West. The Obelisk was erected to commemorate the 'Forgotten Famine' of 1740/41.

I love houses just like this,

with old wood so weathered it holds no evidence of paint.

I love the texture of wood that is slowly pulling away from that to which it was attached.

I love structures that housed the life of early Great Plains farm families.

I love to imagine the views each window and door framed.

I love climbing vines.

This place has it all!

I love structures, there's something beautiful in seeing man's ideas constructed to near perfection. Bridges come close to that perfection, alignment has to be right, tensile strain figured out, height width, every inch of the bridge has to be measured correctly so it sustains.

The underside of the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge by Santiago Calatrava in Dallas, TX. This is a thing of beauty to me because I studied architecture and love structures. I have plans to do a photoshoot under here soon. Just have to source the right person and setup.

Over My Head

Quick Shot from the top of stairs and our datacenter door landing. Basically just a B&W conversion of the red iron, conduits and trusses overhead. Gotta love structure.

(I can't make out the dark spots on the wall and whether it is writing, but if it is writing and it ends up spelling "redruM", I'm finding me another job!!)

(No "Tilt-Shift" or focus manipulation on this one.)
