Back now from a few days away in Scotland with my family had a great time exploring new places . The garden backed onto a beautiful loch lined with pine trees and I'd often be out trying to capture photographs of the ever changing light on the mountains ..
My daughter was sat reading her book in the window often looking out at the beautiful views .. this is one of my favourite images from our trip

I love portrait compositions (vertical) but actually I am weak in portrait shooting especially posed portrait.
This is one of my archive shots of portraits in 2012 with photo club friends.

The following is the original story of the post.
I joined a group of amateur photographers in an outdoor portrait shooting yesterday.
The portrait is another weakest link in my photography. :o(
In a group shooting, I am usually the passive and silent one. Our group leader, Jacky who is a professional photographer was giving all the directions to the model Jennifer. All the other fellow photographers were also talking to the model and said loudly “Look here please” most of the time.
I was the one with long lens and stayed behind the crowd and took the shots in between the shoulders. I had not so good experience such as blocking other people’s views or even jamming other cameras when I shot with shorter lens in the previous experience.
Anyways this is a fun experience and it was nice meeting with other hobbyists in my local community too.

Heliotropism is sun tracking...flowers that follow the sun the whole day.
They seem lost, no sun!
As the sun was shying away, I bought this bouquet of Sunflowers (Helianthus), to brighten up the place and your life.
I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen! With my eyes..

I have been hoping to try this HDR B&W look for some time. So to day I gave it a try. So very different from the softer look I normally do. But I do think it has a feel I do seem to like. I think it must be just the right looking kind of pose or feeling for me. I really just love portraits and would love to find a way and a look of my own. This is not it. But as summer is here I hope to be doing many more portraits to find my look. So if you'd like a portrait come and see me. I will give it my best.
