Secondly : This card has a bit of a funny story to it. I received this card from Marie in Germany. A few weeks earlier... I received a card from her mother! What are the odds! I hope that I can someday send them a card in return; that would truly be amazing!

The wife had business in Frankfurt this past Friday, so I went with along for the weekend... just to keep her company and all and not because I love Germany, weißbier, shopping the Zeil or taking photos of this wonderful skyline. Nope. None of those things ever crossed my mind. =D

After 17 years in Germany I will take small breaks, step back, turn around, look around and see what this place is all about.
STAHL/STEEL: The Germans likes to build. Heavy structures engineered with precision. At first, it appeared to me they were building without a soul, making the world a bit boring, flat and faceless. They turn an organic world into a rigid.
Into a block.
Now I think that aspect is the part they found love in - A strong, secure, set future as a dull backdrop where colors and life really stand out.
...if it doenst work out they build a flat rate FKK next to it as a poor chosen counter weight.

Album Description – Mainz, Germany – 03DEC2017:
Joe and I rode the train back after visiting the Blachnik family, taking Gertrud to the first "great, big, historic Christmas Market in Babenhausen" and visiting with her and Heinz in their home, getting off the bus around the Mainz cathedral to walk through the Christmas Market on our way to the crew hotel.
Joe loves German Christmas Markets and we went to 2 today! And we got to visit our friends the Blachniks in Babenhausen!
We heard church bells ringing when we left in the morning for Babenhausen, and ringing again when we returned to Mainz.
What a wonderful layover, this snowy First Sunday of Advent.

Sorry, I have to rant abit. After much searching, I finally found my "perfect 50" today. The 50mm lens that I lust after since the beginning of my Leica journey. Earlier, I thought I will never be able to afford one, later on I thought I'll never ever come across one again even if I have the money. This love and hate lens is the Summilux 50mm ASPH LHSA version. The lens that incorporates all the best Leica has to offer, all the technologies and tricks all into this tiny little fellow. If you understand lens design, this little bugger is astonishing.
Firstly, It spots the beachmark optic of all the 50mm in the world. Sharp and high resolving at all aperture and all focus distances throughout. There is no compromise in its imagary output. If that is not enough, it comes in the tiny E43 "mountains" barrel of the type I & II classic Summilux we all love. German mechanical engineering at its best! Avant garde yet stylishly classic... For the very first time, I felt "complete". Not even when I got my Noctilux.
Oh yes, I got the RFSG (rangefinder singapore) book today from Chii Fei too. Im pleased with the printing, there are details in the black ;) Please collect yours if you havent!

It was nice to see a Volvo from Lithuania, as they seem to love German marques over there. I'm not sure where this one comes from in the country, and it probably isn't an original Lithuanian car, but unfortunately no clues.

Because next weekend there will be the Christopher Street Day here in town, Munich sets an example for tolerance and promotes love in all of its forms. So for example you will find gay, lesbian and heterosexual couples on some of the traffic lights :-)
