Something a bit different from me - hope you like it! ..... love them or hate them - we can't live without them!
Well out of my comfort zone with architectural photographs
St Peter’s Seminary was designed by Gillespie, Kidd & Coia and opened in 1966 as a training college for Roman Catholic priests. Since 1987 the building has lain empty and become derelict

What else to do on a cold and rainy Wednesday than dump a load of jelly beans in the bath?
And hope your 3 yr old doesn't see them. LOL!
Steyning Flickr Challenge - November 2014
Once again this month our challenge is making us think outside the box. Our photographer is Dorothea Lange and her quote is:
Pick a theme and work it to exhaustion; the subject must be something you truly love or truly hate.
I don't know that I've worked the subject to exhaustion but I have exhausted my little brain in trying to find a subject that shouts I truly love or hate it. I'm relying on the emotions of people who look at this image and immediately feel love or hate towards the chocolates and/or the brussel. The feelings get even stronger as we come towards the Christmas season.
LOVE
said to much-but for all the wrong reasons
you say you love me, but how can this be possible?
you just say it because you have to-that's your job
how can you say we're equal
there is so much that isn't
this favoritism is all around
it's going to kill me-to live up to ur expectations
but fulfill my morals. . . to live up higher than you
oh, the pressure builds each day
the mention of your name-so many thoughts
love or hate
can't hate because love always comes out stronger
love is the reason why i'm here
hate is why i want it to end
but love is why i can't leave
how i long to go to my favorite place
please- let me go
The Durian is distinctive of it's unique odour and it's thorn covered husk.
The edible flesh emits a distinctive odour, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact.
Some people regard the durian as fragrant; others find the aroma overpowering and offensive. The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust.
I love it and it's my favourite fruit! Always hoping it's in season when I go back to Malaysia!
Has anyone tried it?
Did you like it?
Steyning Flickr Challenge - November 2014
Once again this month our challenge is making us think outside the box. Our photographer is Dorothea Lange and her quote is:

Today, as Dorothea Lange says, I have worked the challenge to exhaustion. I truly hate packaging. Most of it seems so unnecessary and every day my bin is full to the brim with fancy, bulky packaging that cannot all be biodegradable. Where will it end up? As I layed the packaging on the floor I found another 'hate' ......... Slogans across the packaging - giving the packaging another purpose - to get into our heads.
When I uploaded the images I thought that, as I was supposed to be working the image to death, I'd add a filter that I didn't like - posterise. I thought hate was a bit strong for a photoshop filter but overall the image is everything I cannot stand so, to my mind, I've achieved the Challenge.

Day 72.
I was planning on doing a shot of autumn leaves today, since it's autumn and they look great, but I have a nagging backache - not too bad but I didn't feel like going out - so I decided to do what I'd planned yesterday though I left it a bit late and the light is already fading.
Since I can't find any traditionally shaped triangular humbugs for Christmas cards, how do you think traditional sprouts would work? I know it's been done before - I have even bought cards in the past with a single sprout but I might try something along these lines (IF I do any xmas cards - I've left it a bit late already and still feel that I'll end up with a load of cards I can't use).
Anyway - who amongst you likes sprouts? I do. I think I'm in a minority though.
Marmite gold! had to shoot it... improvised on flash as couldn't be bothered to hunt out the sb28's
not so strobist.. ghetto light (bike light in white mug with grease proof for diffuser) 6inch from marmite camera left
chain of led's behind for bokeh
Yesterday I was quite taken aback to see two Canadians disgusted at the idea of tinned spaghetti tomato sauce.
A lot of us grew up on this kind of thing (on toast of course) and would still love this as a lunch time snack or to accompany another meal. I think it goes great with a fried breakfast btw (instead of beans.) I'm just about to have it on the side with an omelette now.
Anyway, what's your opinion? Love it or hate it?
NB. Uploaded with Flickit, processed with curves for free and sharpen for free on the iPhone.
Well you either love it or hate it ...I'm in the love category and brought myself a huge jar today which should see me through my 365 - what about you love or hate ?
Imogen Heap: The Walk
Imogen Heap. What can I say, she's just one of those very artistic people whose music you'd probably either love or hate because sometimes it's really kinda obscure; in a good way. I really couldn't find a title and I knew that Imogen Heap's songs would provide me with something. "The Walk" is one of the more, shall I say, normal songs she has done. I love her music, it's really different.
So maybe you saw, or maybe you didn't, I made explore again. I'm really happy about that because the day I posted I was in a rotten mood. I'm sure the Flickr Bots just explored me to make me feel better. I'm glad they did because I was very happy. First a300 Explore.
Here's another painting from ?Friday's paint session, I'll work on something new tomorrow maybe. I've been reading a bit for Uni, and otherwise lately so I've not been painting so much. I have my Grandfather's 75th Birthday Whole Family Meal on Saturday so I have to photograph at that event. If some, unlike me, photos start appearing, ignore them, they're just tests. Or maybe don't ignore them, comment and give me a heads up on what you think about them.
