I blinked my eyes

and in an instant,

decades had passed.

― John Mark Green

I walked by a bus stop the other day, and saw this tiny bit of old dried up plant matter lying on the bench. I couldn't resist getting down and shooting the beauty of aging.

HBM!

This is the same pink cordyline plant I photographed a couple of weeks back. Each leaf was so different from the next, and each one had its own patterns and designs. I particularly like the ones that were fading into winter and drying.

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

~ Langston Hughes

We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with others; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.

The great thing about getting older is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been.

I realise there's something incredibly honest about trees in winter, how they're experts at letting things go.

We seem to be in our second winter - it's sunny but below freezing at night again....and all the buds were coming out!

A hosta leaf changing colour, fading, curling up, and on it's way to fertilizer, I imagine. They are such fascinating leaves, and I do like how they change in autumn, especially in the sun.

Finding beauty in all stages and seasons

So yesterday I discovered I had a tick bite, a reminder to everyone to check themselves after they are done shooting in nature. I know its something not many of us thing is an issue but it really is and for me has kind of put a damper on my interest in shooting nature because now I'll be worrying if I have another tick on me haha.

One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone.

a breath of winter, and the trees remember magic

A bit of magic in the morning, before it all melted away in the rain.

Fading beauty.

Oh, please

Come out and haunt me

I know you want me

Come out and haunt me

I held my breath as we do sometimes to stop time when something wonderful has touched us.

An offering for the sake of offering, perhaps. Anyhow, it was her gift. Nothing else had she of the slightest importance; could not think, write, even play the piano. She muddled Armenians and Turks; loved success; hated discomfort; must be liked; talked oceans of nonsense: and to this day, ask her what the Equator was, and she did not know.
