Hobbiton is located on a working sheep farm and is so beautiful. One of the highlights of our trip!
The field and big tree on the left side are the party tree and field, one of the reasons this area was picked. Hobbiton was built twice (for LOTR and the Hobbit), the second time they used more permanent materials so it could be retained as an attraction.
In explore
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Fellowship of the Ring, the boys and I decided to whip up some vignettes depicting scenes from the greatest film trilogy ever.
Like most of my projects I got over ambitious and had to rush at the end, but overall it felt good to build LOTR again.
For the Brickvention. Nearly done, waiting on some parts to finish off a few things. I feel the need to add more trees but I'm surprised that even with something this large I ran out of space for any more.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone next week and checking out all of the amazing creations at Brickvention this year!
As someone that loves lor and the lore behind it i could not give up this chance to take this picture at [maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/From%20Now%20On/130/243/2002/ Solstice The Fellowship]
This is a full frame 16 x 9 crop of a area of local woodland that just seem to keep on giving, the mist obviously adds a wonderful atmosphere but it’s amazing how when you immerse yourself in an area how many things become visible to you.
Defiantly best viewed on a monitor and phone screen.
Welcome to Rivendell, Frodo Baggins!
This is the start of my LEGO Lord of the Rings series.
After the chase with the Black Riders Frodo reaches Rivendell, House of Elrond. He finds healing in the elven town and when he wakes up Gandalf is by his side.
One year ago Thorsten alias Xenomurphy reached out to me with a very special collaboration: Building the epic journey of The Lord of the Rings. Of course I agreed and after 13 extraordinary scenes by Thorsten I continue with scene number 14.
I'm excited to show you all the vignettes I built over the last months and relive the most iconic scenes from the first movie together with you! New scene every Monday & Thursday.

To decide the future of the one ring Elrond calls together a council of elves, men, dwarfs and Hobbits. A fellowship of nine including Frodo the ring bearer is sent out to destroy the ring in Mordor. You have my sword, my bow and my axe. And my bricks!
This scene is a tribute to my friend Markus Rollbühler who is the true wizard of LEGO feather trees and a huge LotR fan himself.

Edoras, the capital city of the failing Rohan. The Golden Hall of Meduseld remains a reminder of the splendor of the kings of old. In this dire time four riders make their way up the rocky path to seek counsul with the failing Theoden... Rohan my lord is ready to fall...

1. Go To ReBrick
2. In the upper right corner click the sign in button
3. If you don't have a Lego ID, click the New Member button and follow the instructions. (It will ask you for your email, but I've never gotten an email from them)
4. When you've logged in, Go back to ReBrick
5. Click the' Like' button on the side of the photo. (This step is the most important, because the contest is decided by how many 'Likes' the photo gets)
Thank you so much for your support! I'd just be through the roof if this thing does well in the contest!

After the tragic loss of Gandalf in Moria the Fellowship finds shelter in Lothlorien and is welcomed by Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel.
Building the Lorien treehouse in the Mallorn tree gave me another opportunity to build the elegant elven architecture with bricks.

In Fangorn the Hobbits meet someone they did not expect, the ent Treebeard.
A great power has been sleeping here for many long years and the coming of Merry and Pippin will be like the falling of small stones that starts an avalanche in the mountains.
After the Balrog, Treebeard is the next big figure I could build for my LotR series. The roots and branches made him an interesting challenge that I really enjoyed! Some unusual part usage are the parrot nose and the sausages for fingers.

With Lord of the Rings being my favorite movie trilogy, I wanted to create a full scene from it. The entire scene is brick built and I did a bunch of editing to get the lighting as close as I could.
“Speak friend and enter!” The Fellowship of the Ring reaches the Doors of Durin and after a while Gandalf remembers the password.
But there is a Watcher in the Water who attacks the group and grabs Frodo with its long tentacles.
Breaking down this iconic scene to the size of a vignette was quite a challenge, but I’m really happy with how the moon door turned out and that I got to include the Watcher in the Water.

You shall not pass! Gandalf’s fight with the Balrog.
On the Bridge of Khazad-dûm Gandalf faces the Balrog of Morgoth and brings it to fall. While falling into the abyss the Balrog’s whip snares Gandalf’s leg, and he too plummets into the depths of the mine.
I had huge respect for probably the most iconic scene from The Lord of the Rings, but am really happy how the Balrog and the Moria architecture turned out! The Balrog actually has a light-brick inside to make the fire on its back blaze up.

While the Fellowship takes rest in Lothlorien, Frodo risks a look in the Mirror of Lady Galadriel.
After my previous vignette showed the top of a Mallorn tree, for this scene I built the thick roots at the ground. I tried to make it as organic as possible and got to include the little spring where Galadriel fills up her carafe.

The Fellowship of the Ring starts their journey to Mount Doom leaving the beautiful city of Rivendell behind them.
This was my last chance to build something from the elven realm before the group will travel new paths. Rivendell is not complete without a waterfall and more unnecessary-complicated floor mosaics. Also building all these colourful trees for the recent vignettes was really refreshing. Which part of the journey are you looking forward too?
Thanks to Xenomurphy who helped me tremendously with the editing of this and the following scenes! Head to my IG stories for more pics.

Our LotR series finally brings us to Rohan, land of the Horse-Lords!
I love the wooden architecture in Rohan so I'm really glad I could build this chapter of The Two Towers. The Westfold is the first region to get attacked by Isengard, but stay tuned for more Rohan builds in coming vignettes.
The hay bundle technique comes from the mind of the always inspiring Ben Tritschler. Last week Ben tragically lost his fight against cancer. You may be gone, but your builds will never be forgotten!

Reunion with Bilbo in Rivendell
Before we can continue the adventure of Frodo and the ring we have to appreciate the beauty of Rivendell! The elven realm has always been my favorite location in The Lord of the Rings so I was excited to recreate the elegant architecture with LEGO.

The world is changing. Saruman is driving the machine of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the orc. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Isengard… and Mordor?
Building the caverns of Isengard gave me the opportunity to play with light and ignite the furnace just as it does in the movie.

The Golden Hall
In Edoras, there stands aloft a great hall of Men. It seems to the eyes that it is thatched with gold and the light of it shines far over the land of Rohan.
Meduseld is one of the most beautiful buildings in The Lord of the Rings and was exciting to recreate. The hall is massive so I tried to capture the essence of it within this vignette.
Éowyn never got an official Minifigure so I had to come up with my own and she gets company by Háma, who guards the door.

It's a submission for the "Adventuring Party" category of Brickcalibur contest
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "the Fellowship of the Ring" we have made a collection of 20x20 builds depicting iconic scenes from the movie. My build shows the scene where the hobbits hide from a ringwraith. Make sure to check out the other builds at the tagged users .
This 12x12 build depicts the scene where Gollum and Smeagol have their conversation in the Two Towers. The pillars mirror each other since in realty the two characters are one in the same.
This was built for Summer Joust's 12x12 category and is my entry into the first round of MELO.
Boromir’s Death
The final scene of my LotR series depicts the tragic death of Boromir after the breaking of the fellowship.
It's been an amazing journey through Middle Earth in the last weeks and I'm really thankful for your amazing support with kind comments and messages!
Don't forget to check out the first half of the series by Xenomurphy! Thanks for inviting me to this collab and helping a ton with the photo editing.
The builders for the second movie will be revealed at later time, so keep in eye on my stories to see how our #LotRvignettes continue.
