Built in 1988-1992, this Postmodern-style station was built as a transfer point between multiple lines on the Chicago Rapid Transit System, utilizing part of the adjacent James R. Thompson Center to connect the elevated platforms to the street and subway platforms. The station replaced an earlier station on the same site, which opened in 1895, and was removed in 1988 to make way for the present station, while the subway portion of the station has operated continuously without extensive changes since the Dearborn Street Subway opened in 1951. The station features a station house that is located within the James R. Thompson Center, with a canopy that covers the platforms and tracks, featuring rooftop skylights and metal mesh exterior screens. The station is characteristic of the late 20th Century elevated railroad stations that can be found along the Chicago L.

These earrings are created using lots of tiny loops cut from bicycle inner tube. Surprisingly light weight for their size.
We did probably one of the best hikes you can do on Vashon. Hiked from the Farm, down into the Maury Island Marine Park, along the beach to the "new" addition (an old gravel mine) to the Marine Park. Then through the park, into the Dockton Woods, through the woods to Dockton Park on the water. Back through some of the Dockton Woods to Gold Beach and then down the road back to the Farm. If I can figure out how to export the track out of my GPS, I'll post that. We also hit some great geocache spots ...
