Pete said to stop taking photos of him and take a photo of the crane so I did and it turned out okay.
March 26th. A late lunch, outside under this yellow brolly, and a movie with one of my favorite guys. A fun day!
This little water dragon has been lunging at my feet lately. Not sure if he just wants to be fed or sees a meal in my toes. What a wonderful native animal to have in the garden!

The lighting was simple, and adjusted by me. I moved an 800W hot light on the right, and flagged it to keep glare off the side of my lens. There is no reflector on the left hand side to kick the light back. There was a little light spillover from the classroom project running to the left.
Decreased the focal length from 70mm to 50mm to include some black space in the frame for flexibility in creating a photomontage.
Exposure is set manually, having spot metered off Ariane's cheek, and the camera histogram checked to make sure no highlight detail is lost.
Camera is handheld for flexibility: 1/60 at these focal lengths is just about doable with my heavy camera body.
