I know I seem to be coming up with one excuse after the other this year as to why I've not been on Flicker so much... well here's the latest... (reason, not excuse!)

Just over two weeks ago I slipped over in the rain on Mum's deck... and as a result of a not so elegant tumble.. landed on and broke my wrist! Of course it HAD to be my 'left hand' - me being left handed...

and when I do these sorts of thing I seem to manage to do a good job of it!

It's a rather nasty break and has had me in and out of hospital 4 times already. (These photos were taken last Friday 3rd.). They thought they may need to put a plate in as it had shifted, but decided to have one more go at manipulating it on Wednesday. So 4 casts later and 3 attempts to realign and straighten it... I am still in limbo really and quite a bit of pain. I have Ted and Nursey looking after me though. %-)

So I've been totally out of action and feeling pretty lousy! I have to be very careful with it at the moment while it is still 'knitting in'... kind of learnt that the hard way! I will have another follow up appointment at the hospital this week and hopefully all will be progressing well.

You don't realise how much you need to use 'two hands' for until you're in such a predicament.. and it truly is DRIVING ME NUTS!!! But it's important to get it right and do what the Doctors tell me. At least I can type with one hand! LOL!!! So when I'm feeling a little better I'll pop back and catch up with you all. One consolation though... I've been able to watch HEAPS of the Olympics!!! %-)

Personal note:

Today Im having surgery done in my wrist. The titanium piece that holds the pieces together are causing problems now. Maybe it will help to remove it - doctor says theres a 50/50 chance - so I must in full anesthetic state in a couple of hours. Wish me luck on the other side....

As part of looking after me in 09, I've had a lovely day today. Went shopping in town and then had my nails done. Now about to have a lovely dinner and a glass of wine. A very good Saturday!
