This is looking up the avenue of platane trees, a photo of which I recently uploaded. The building at the end is shown as 'le pavillon' on maps. It's all shuttered at the moment so not sure what it is used for.
Started by Charles II in the 1680, by planting a double row of elm trees. The road was added by Queen Anne in 1710. There are 1,652 trees, each 30ft from each other. The path is just under 3 miles in length.
Same forest and day as in the previous photo but slightly different ICM technique and the end result is different too. 👱♀️🎧🎶 Knock on Wood ( Wilson Pickett ), Finland, ICM.
On a winter morning, I was walking in the forest with my dog Helmi. The paths in my forest were covered in snow. I was surrounded by white beauty everywhere that invited me to come closer and closer. Finland.

The earth is waiting for winter. November is Marraskuu in Finnish and means, among other things, that nature goes into hibernation.
The previous night had been frosty and the earth was cold and frozen. The air also shivered with cold and as I walked along the path, frozen leaves and fir cones crunched under my steps.
The next day the first snow fell. My forest, Finland.

And so the rains came and the warm breath of the wind melted the snow away. My forest, Finland.
🎧Changes (David Bowie)
The first snow fell at night and nature fell silent. As if magic had happened. I felt like I was transported to another world, so changed was my forest. I breathe the cold, fresh air and I am happy.
My forest, Finland.

I walked on the beach lately (12 kilometers or 7.5 miles), on the left I had a cliff on the right baltic sea. On the horizon you can behold little town Międzyzdroje, Poland.
The weather is bad, so I'm still waiting for real Spring to arrive. However, my sneakers are ready to walk kilometers with me...and discover the beauty of waking up nature.

It is a fair walk to this wreck and I've wanted to do it ever since I saw the first photo of it when I joined flickr. You could say it was on my bucket list well at last I've managed it it may have taken twice as long as for a more able person I'm just glad to have done it!
I got a gig tonight at the local and my bike needs a service. So I landed this gig tonight and its hot, dusty and a long way from where the bus dropped me off. Looks at the abandoned garage and thinks....hope I get someone turning up tonight...cos got to get back home and all my money I had left bought this ticket. Such is life huh....

I will be gone for a while, on my vacation. Wishing you all a wonderful summer.
Richard Marx
Summer came and left without a warning
All at once I looked and you were gone
And now you're looking back at me
Searching for a way that we can be like we were before
Now I'm back to what I knew before you
Somehow the city doesn't look the same
I'd give my life for one more night
Of having you here to hold me tight; oh, please
Take me there again
Oh, oh
[Chorus:]
And I remember how you loved me
Time was all we had until the day we said goodbye
I remember every moment of those endless summer nights
I still recall the walks along the beaches
And the way your hair would glisten in the sun
Rising in the afternoon
Making love to you under the moon, oh
Do you remember all the nights we spent in silence
Every single breath you took was mine
We can have it all again
Say that you'll be with me when the sun brings your heart to mine
Oh, oh
[Chorus]
There's only so much I can say
So please don't run away from what we have together
It's only you and me tonight
So let's stay lost in flight
Oh, won't you please surrender

We went on a long walk after lunch today and at the very end of the walk we passed by this charming little house. It was the gate which attracted my attention. It's been named after an autobiography by the French novelist, Marcel Pagnol. I know his work from the 1980s when I was introduced to his two novels Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources, both set in Provence and made into successful films.
Regno Unito, Berkshire, Windsor, Autunno 2018
Windsor Castle in Berkshire was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by succeeding monarchs and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe.
The Castle survived many wars, was used as a refuge for the royal family during the Luftwaffe bombing campaigns of the Second World War and survived a fire in 1992. It is a popular tourist attraction, a venue for hosting state visits, and the preferred weekend home of Elizabeth II.
Just 2 days ago we had a wonderful and sunny winterday. Today the snow is melting for the first time in over 2 months, it's grey and moist and I kind of hate the weather we have today, kind of sad too but I survive and after some time I will look forward to the spring. Like I have mentioned in some comments today the wet snow is perfect for snow sculptures and I will do some when I have more time.
Thanks for visits! Have a great weekend my friends!
After a weekend with more than a meter of snowfall, most of it disappeared in a few days and a visit to the beach brought a change in scenery. The wind was cold and blustery here but having a camera in hand provided some encouragement for me to linger and have a look around for something to shoot.
This pair was some distance away. It appeared the dog, stuck with a cone around his head for some medical issue, needed encouragement too as he didn't have much bounce in his step and kept falling behind.
Walk, last weekend in Oedelem - autumn is here to create these beautiful photos

Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton Bay, Craster, Northumberland
After the "flying naan bread", which incidentally was about 3pm when there was still the last throws of a blue sky to be seen, I was forced further up the beach. The conditions were getting bleaker and tempestuous by the minute. And to add insult to injury, the sea foam was making a mockery of any long exposure shots I had planned for, but since I had cajoled Mrs R this far under the pretence of it being the best view of the castle (hmm), I thought I'd better make an attempt... this is 20 minutes after naan and as good as it got!
In hindsight, I quite like the whiteout sea... it reminds me of John Carpenter's The Fog, and if I was a good wordsmith I might have gone down that road for a decent title, but you can't have everything. Not so sure I'd like to be there on my own after dark with only moonlight for company and that thought in my head.
Found a song to go with it thought... one for you Mark...
Irlanda, County Galway, Galway, Primavera 2023
Galway is a city in the West of Ireland. It lies on the River Corrib between Lough Corrib and Galway Bay. Located near an earlier settlement, Galway grew around a fortification built by the King of Connacht in 1124. A municipal charter in 1484 allowed citizens of the by then walled city to form a council and mayoralty. Controlled largely by a group of merchant families, the Tribes of Galway, the city grew into a trading port. Following a period of decline, as of the 21st century, Galway is a tourist destination known for festivals and events including the Galway Arts Festival.
Daily wage labourers take their meals early in the morning and leave for their daily routine. After reaching their destination, they hang their food bowls on shady trees to prevent them from spoiling in the heat. After that, after working at noon, they ate their lunch and went back to work.
