Another vanda, this time a hybrid. One vanda crossed with another.
Vanda is a genus in the orchid family (Orchidaceae) which, although not massive (about eighty species), is one of the genera more commonly found in the market place. This genus and its allies are considered to be among the most specifically adapted of all orchids within Orchidaceae.
The genus is highly prized in horticulture for its showy, fragrant, long lasting, and intensely colorful flowers.
Vanda is widespread across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and New Guinea, with a few species extending into Queensland and some of the islands of the western Pacific. The genus is sometimes abbreviated as V. in the floral trade. - Wikipedia

Ornamental kale is a fabulous ornamental because it lasts longer than just about anything in the garden. It even survives a few frosts. Although edible, it's bitter and used more as a garnish.
Thank you for viewing and for leaving me a comment! Have a wonderful day!

The leaves are often clustered and are variable in shape. The inflorescence bears small flowers which are perfect, containing male and female structures. The flowers are contained in dense spirals on the spadix. The spadix is often elongated into a spike shape, but it can be globe-shaped or club-shaped. Beneath the spadix is the spathe, a type of bract. This is variable in shape, as well, but it is lance-shaped in many species. It may extend out flat or in a curve. Sometimes it covers the spadix like a hood. The fruits develop from the flowers on the spadix. They are juicy berries varying in color, usually containing two seeds. 19356

Well today's "explored shots" on Flickr was dominated by flowers - so I thought I would post one.
Phalaenopsis (moth orchids) grow well in centrally heated rooms and have long-lasting flowers produced all year round.

Times flied rapidly.. All the precious moments of happy together were gone with the wind , only the memories are remained at deepest inside of the mind, although memories would also be fading out as time goes by, the the love will be longlasting forever & ever.
Autumn is not only a season for missing the people, it's also a season for people to miss or recall their favorite pets. This series dog will be the main role in my Momory of Autumn, missing its respective composition, sit, stand , run etc.. Enjoy the series and share with me your feel.

Today I was looking for some color to make a big 50 and a cardboard sun a bit more colorful. A friend will have a big birthday in a few days ... How good that we have so many things in the garage that you would normally have disposed of a long time ago ;-) And it’s good that this color can still be used (especially because it's Sunday and the shops are closed) and what a surprise – after all, the yellow color is from the 1980s! Which you can hardly believe ... Just quality – just the yellow of the egg* ;-)
Well, the can is already rusty, the label has faded, the acrylic paint has dried a bit around the edges ... But I will definitely keep it if there is anything left ;-) By the way, I painted a wall shelf back then. (And don't you think that the dried paint shows a little pareidolia on the edge?)

Was man wiederum kaum glauben mag ...

Gerry Murray, thank you, for the happiness that you have brought me and our family, the best decision I ever made was to say "yes" 51 years ago today! I most certainly am a lucky one!!
Just to prove that relationships can last and that love can be deep and true and long lasting!
There is a reason to for me to believe in love!
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

It's been a really rainy fall, the more so the last couple of days. We're fine, but many roads are closed due to flooding and potential landslides. The ground is saturated from what they call a "pineapple express" - tons of rain riding a warm front from Hawaii to the Pacific northwest. It was almost 60 degrees here today, and the snow level in the mountains is up near 10,000 feet (it's usually 4-5000' this time of year). Pineapple expresses are fairly common here, but this one is especially longlasting.
Hubby and I often walk in the rain, but today's continual downpour and high winds were a good excuse to stay inside. I was trying to capture the rain pounding on our deck. No luck with that, but the yellow viburnum was glowing and dancing. The blur is from out-of-focus raindrops on the window.
2014 Iceland
My first stop over in Iceland was there; simply enjoying the change in lights during the longlasting Blue Hour from the sunrise (behind the mountains) at Kirkjufell
Australia is a big country with lots of big things! But also amongst the oversized are some big, longlasting flowers. Here is the Banksia menziesii (Menzies Banksia) compound flower candle contrasting in size with a pea flower- Egg and Bacon type which is substantially smaller. (Chorizema cordatum??)
Taken when I visited The Australian Garde, Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. Although they were without power the staff were on hand and ushering large numbers of families into the gardens. It was so pleasing to get out to the 25km limit currently allowed by covid-19 restricitions. HMMM :))
I think this is a Jane Magnolia
Long Lasting Glossy Blooms
These trees give you the traditional Magnolia semi-evergreen foliage with fragrant blooms that look like tulips.
These large flowers burst in the late spring. Pinkish purple on the outside, and a bright white on the inside.
Longlasting blooms continue all summer long - all the way to early fall.

Dani's band Panther
we are a band of Forest girls from the Northern Woods. We are skilled in the wilderness and all that comes with it. Our senses are trained and sharp. We are acknowledged in many crafts like tanning, woodworking, fletching, and all that comes with hunting: tracking, skinning, gutting, meat preparation, also cooking (at least rudimentary), making meat longlasting, etc.

Crucifix orchid is still blazing away after weeks of flowers. The seed capsule seems typical of these plants with just one per stem. Several of these cultivars grow happily Gold Coast hinterland home garden.
The Asiatic Asian Eyeliner Lily has lovely white petals with a narrow edge of a maroon colour which is why they are called Eyeliner Lilies but they also have marks on the inner petals in the same colour, it is possible to get other lilies with black or chocolate black markings as well. From what I have been reading these lilies are very easy to grow and they last very well as cut flowers.
A fall garden delight.
Thank you so much for your views, comments and faves! They are encouraging as I continue on my photographic journey.
LONGLASTING 'BOW
This morning is perfect if you want a rainbow. Its been out for hours. 50mph winds and rain for Las Vegas.
The land of roses is how Bulgarian people see their country and after having had a holiday there I can understand why. They have the most amazing selection of roses I have seen and the colours are just wonderful.
I myself put this on a stationary wallmounted scissor-holder I believe it must have been 1983. Scissors are not really working much but for melancholic reasons and since I love our retrokitchen I kept it there.
Don't know about you but I am so appreciative of retro stuff - it is often prettier and hey, more longlasting! Imean look at those colours! Granted, probably not the most healthy ingredients and parts were used back then, but they withstand time so much longer. What sticker from the 2000's wld still look that bright?????
Natural beauty is temporal. Spirituality is supposed to be long lasting. They are good contrast against each other.
Which one do you prefer?
