De Leuvehaven is een haven van Rotterdam gelegen nabij het centrum van Rotterdam en de Erasmusbrug. De haven is onder andere in gebruik als buitenmuseum voor het Maritiem Museum Rotterdam. De Leuvehaven heeft een directe verbinding met de Nieuwe Maas via een doorvaart tussen het Vasteland en de Boompjes. De brug over deze doorvaart heet de Nieuwe Leuvebrug.
Vroeger was de Leuvehaven nog een kreek met weinig betekenis. Het was er zo ondiep dat alleen kleine vaartuigen met een platte bodem er gebruik van konden maken. In 1594 gaven de Staten van Holland en West-Friesland toestemming om de kleine kreek de Leuve (ook wel: Loeve of Loewe) tot aan de Maas te vergroten. De haven zelf kwam gereed in 1608 of 1609. In het begin sprak men van de Nieuwe Haven, maar later bleek de Leuvehaven toch de beste naam.

I love reading books on the hillside, especially when it's not cold and rainy, haha. While I was up there this evening, after I finished the photoshoot, I just stood for a good 10 minutes, looking at the nighttime view. And I had this huge longing to have a blanket and pillow, and just lie down on this isolated path in the bushes... And sleep there all night, staring and dreaming of the city lights, and wake up to the sunrise. Mmmm. One day I WILL sleep outside, just not yet as there are some creepers wandering around by night, haha. But I just love the night sounds of crickets and howling coyotes... Oooh, I really want to sleep outside by the ocean, where I can hear the waves and see the stars... I hope to do that this summer on our holiday. :)
I spotted this tiny area of grass that has a thin spider web (look close), Rain from the prior evening left behind TINY gorgeous rain dropplets. The scene of the web, grass color and angle, along with the rain is ever so pettite and fragile looking. Yet in the photo I see stength. Amazing what a little spider can create :). I loev the appearance of FLOATING rain drops.
Thsi was taken as a SOOC macro.

Lit from behind, the water picked up light from the sky to give a loevly soft blue reflection, while the low angle, diffused sunlight provided soft well contured forms.
