De naam Ringersbrug is afkomstig van nabijgelegen voormalige chocoladefabriek van Ringers. De loopbrug van het centrum naar de Overstad is een ontwerp van architect Lody Trap uit 1997. Lody Trap is mededirecteur van Noordwestzes architecten en ontwerpers dat gevestigd is in de watertoren van Alkmaar.

And yes...I do. One of my all time favorite things about life here in Poland is the appreciation for ice cream. And it is deep. Everyone loves LODY! Because it signifies the celebration of the spring and summer months, longer, warmer days, long walks at a slower pace and the sense of being outdoors and together with friends, family and loved ones. We all have our favorite places and mine has been this little place since day one. Today I walked away with a lovely bouquet of Jagoda (Blueberry), Oreo and Marscarpone with Czarna Porzka. :D Lately, there is always a line....which makes me so happy to see because it only verifies what I already know. Stand in the line and be rewarded with deliciousness....you will probably see me there.

Some nice shade on the main square in Psinthos. We stayed there for a while and then we continued our ride around the island :)
Psinthos is a classic Greek small village. The tavernas here are uncompromisingly Greek, with an emphasis on grilled meat. Life centers round the village square where you can see quite a lot of people just sitting back and, to use a well known phrase, "watching the world go by". Psinthos is famous as the site of the last battle between the Turks and Italians in 1912.

Drzewko oliwne na rynku w Psinthos, gdzie zatrzymaliśmy się na chwilę, zjedliśmy lody, po czym ruszyliśmy dalej na przejażdżkę po wyspie :)
Psinthos to klasyczna górska, rodyjska wioska, z centralnie usytuowanym dużym placem. Otaczają go tawerny i sklepiki, a przy jednym z boków stoi kościół pod wezwaniem Najświętszej Marii Panny. Wioska słynie ze swojego miodu, który można kupić od miejscowych producentów, zaś w miejscowych tawernach można spróbować tradycyjnego greckiego jedzenia. Psinthos znane jest jako miejsce ostatniej bitwy między Turkami i Włochami w 1912r.

From the old town we walked to the waterfront promenade and I was simply amazed of it's beauty :)
The Riva, Split's seafront promenade, runs the length of the old town and is one of Europe's finest. The views across the harbour to the islands beyond are simply magnificent. It's one of the favorite meeting places for both, tourists and locals. You can relax here in the shade of umbrellas and palm trees. In the nearby cafes or restaurants you can find aromatic coffee or delicious ice cream.

Ze starówki wyszliśmy na nadmorski deptak, który zachwycił mnie swoją urodą :)
Promenada Riva, ulubione miejsce turystów i mieszkańców Splitu. Ta niezwykle charakterystyczna dla Splitu, nadmorska promenada jest całkowicie wyłączona z ruchu kołowego. Można odpocząć tu w cieniu parasoli i palm, delektując się widokiem na morze i odległe wyspy, zaś w pobliskich kawiarniach lub restauracjach wypić aromatyczną kawę lub zjeść pyszne lody.

There is a new ice cream shop in town.....and it is delicious! Lody is the Polish word for ice cream.....and believe me when I tell you that Ice Cream is serious business here. Everyone, and I mean everyone, love ice cream. This place opened up last week and people are lining up to get a taste! I am having chocolate, but I also returned to taste all of the other flavors too........ :)

It's one of the favorite meeting places for both, tourists and locals. You can relax here in the shade of umbrellas and palm trees. In the nearby cafes or restaurants you can find aromatic coffee or delicious ice cream.
Split is the second-largest city of Croatia and the largest city of the region of Dalmatia. Split is one of the oldest cities in the area. While it is traditionally considered just over 1,700 years old counting from the construction of Diocletian's Palace in 305 CE, archaeological research relating to the original founding of the city as the Greek colony of Aspálathos in the 4th century BCE establishes the urban history of the area as being several centuries older. The city turned into a prominent settlement around 650 AD, when it became successor to the ancient capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia, Salona: as after the Sack of Salona by the Avars and Slavs, the fortified Palace of Diocletian was settled by the Roman refugees. In the seventeenth century, Split was a Greek colony and in 1420 it was conquered by the Venetians, and in 1918 became part of Yugoslavia. Then it was declared the capital of Dalmatia. In 1979, the historic center of Split was included into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Promenada Riva, ulubione miejsce turystów i mieszkańców Splitu. Ta niezwykle charakterystyczna dla Splitu, nadmorska promenada jest całkowicie wyłączona z ruchu kołowego. Można odpocząć tu w cieniu parasoli i palm, delektując się widokiem na morze i odległe wyspy, zaś w pobliskich kawiarniach lub restauracjach wypić aromatyczną kawę lub zjeść pyszne lody.
Split to drugie co do wielkości chorwackie miasto i równocześnie stolica Dalmacji, ważny ośrodek administracyjny, gospodarczy i komunikacyjny. Początki miasta sięgają VI w. p.n.e. kiedy była tu grecka kolonia Aspálathos. Historia Splitu rozpoczyna się w 293 roku, w 9 lat po objęciu władzy w Imperium Rzymskim przez cesarza Dioklecjana, urodzonego w pobliskiej Salonie. W tymże roku nakazał on rozpoczęcie budowy wielkiego pałacu (o kształcie prostokąta i wymiarach 214 x 174 m), który miał być jego miejscem zamieszkania na starość. Pałac został wybudowany na wzór warownego zamku rzymskiego, z dwoma głównymi ulicami, ułożonymi wewnątrz, poprzecznie na kształt krzyża. Kiedy w 639 r., po najeździe Awarów i Słowian, Salona została zrównana z ziemią, uchodźcy stopniowo przenieśli się do opuszczonego w tym czasie pałacu, doceniając jego fortyfikacje i zamieniając go w miasto. W VII wieku Split był kolonią grecką a w 1420 podbity został przez Wenecjan, a 1918 stał się częścią Jugosławi. Następnie ogłoszono go stolicą Dalmacji. W 1979r. historyczne centrum Splitu zostało wpisane na Listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO.
