Recycled lockers, painted and with doors removed to work as a bookshelf.

Made in 2005

With over 1800 students, we need a lot of lockers at the school!

I processed this in Lightroom using the less blue-street preset. It seemed appropriate for the tatty lockers!

I am from Japan. I graduated from Nihon University College of Art in Japan with a B.A. degree in Cinematography. After that, I worked at OMNIBUS JAPAN, a film production company, for one year.

At present, I am learning English in Los Angeles. Also I often volunteering to help out for AFI & USC graduation filming. In addition, I am looking for job or internships in California. In order to do this I would need sponsorship to work in the USA.

Photography is my lifework.

Beautiful light filtering into the preserved locker room of the Big Pit mining museum through ribbed glass. Okay, how pleased am I with this one, for teh simple fact that its another one of those that no additional processing was needed.

I also love the little red highlights in the locker numbers and, of course, the beautiful shadows.

March 21, 2010:

LATE AT NIGHT,

My friends and I decided that we were going to

do this shoot tomorrow. It took a couple hours to get to this place we wanted to go. We didnt know what we were getting our selves into.

March 22, 2010

First thing that went wrong:

my alarm didn't go off so i wake up to

Hillary calling me. Then i call heather.

She just woke up from my call.

Haha, so then hillary comes to my house.

We then go pick up brittany and hannah,

by the time we got back to my house heather was there and we were ready to go an hour late then when we wanted to start!

So us 5 start our adventure by getting drinks and gas.

We then drove for forever through canyons. Hillary had to go to the bathroom so we stopped and got some food also. We only had about 15 mins left till our spot of shooting. Basicly we were in the middle of no where. We finally arrived. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

We only had 1 hour and 30 mins to shoot. We get all our stuff and have to find a way to get over this fence.

We start up the hill which was covered in snow and mud. We found an opening and went through it, we walked inside the first building and noticed that there were others so we started walking to the others. When we got to the other side we came to a huge mound of snow... well Brittany thought it would be a good idea if we hurried and ran over it. Her and Hillary burst out into a sprint and took three steps and Brittany is flat on her face with the snow up above her knees. Haha it was sooo funny. So then we had no choice but to go through it. We were soaked.

We walked into this other building and started looking around.. in the far distance you could see just a little bit of a green room.. we went over there and walked into this room with this cage like things hanging from the ceiling.. the first thing some of the girls said was, "this looks like a torture chamber." "there is def. a homeless person in here." haha

Anyways so we took pictures and then had to leave. We were going home about 90 MPH the whole way. The drive was long so we decided to have fun and put our number on a piece of paper and flash it to everyone on the freeway. We had soo much fun and i will be going back to this place for another shoot :]
