The debate continues. Is this padlocked gate keeping us out or someone else in! I don't generally do Monochrome but felt this subject leant itself nicely.

Stay safe.

Sometimes life feels like this for all of us.

locked out on the balcony - acting dangerously - rebellious - displeased

Closed for the winter. The iron gates of Woolbeding Gardens and Woolbeding House keep the ravening hordes of grubby peasant folk at bay.

Surya Sen Street, Kolkata.

Looks like this gate will be open soon. There is plans to redo this historical site in New Port Richey, Florida.

I will tell you why.....

The comedy of errors started at 8.30am when I was about to jump into my car and take my son to school and myself to work, when he says "Mum I've just split my pants!!". And sure enough my son has a hole in his pants with his undies half hanging out!! Don't ask how he did it as that is still a mystery!!

"Well you can't go to school like that" I say., so I send him back upstairs with the house keys to change into some new pants. BIG MISTAKE!!!

I wait downstairs in the car park, for what seems like forever. I start to have horrible thoughts....what if he has locked himself in the unit. When finally I hear footsteps....the door opens and there he is in tears standing there empty handed!!! He comes running out.....the door behind him slams shut. I already know what the news will be....." mum the keys are in the unit"...sob sob sob and since my car keys are attached to the house keys we aren't going anywhere soon!!

After I loose my cool for a split second, I take a deep breath and think.... thats right my mum has the spare set so we just have to go to her place and then its all good. WRONG!! She informs me on the phone with, "Don't you remember I gave them back to you that other time?!!", and sure enough the spare keys are now LOCKED inside with the other keys!!!

I leave my car unlocked- as you can't lock a VW if you don't have the keys, and pray it will still be standing there in the near future!!

I bring my son to school the good old fashioned way- by bus;-) and then start to head back home. While waiting at the bus stop, the heavens open up and there is a major down pour.....I run for the next tree only to see the bus drive straight past me!!

I'm now VERY late for work and have also called a locksmith. I'm informed they will be there in the next 2 hours....

So hence this apple is what kept me entertained while I sat on my front steps for most of the morning, waiting to get my house/car keys back.

$150- later, all was good again!!

THE END.

Shops are closed. People are asked to stay home. Most of the traffic and economic activities have been reduced.. The pandemic has slowed down everything on the planet.

Something amazing has happened. The satellite and global weather data has shown the air pollution improved significantly in the areas struck hard by the pandemic e.g. northern Italy, China and US. The air pollution has been greatly reduced. The reduced economic activities and traffic have contributed to this.

BC province has closed the provincial parks early April. The 24 hours surveillance cameras in Golden Ears Park has shown that wild animals are more active in the park trails after the parks are closed to people.

There are many bad things about the pandemic. But at least there is one good thing the pandemic did to the planet earth. It has cut down the human activities and made some room for nature to breathe.

I saw the quiet scene in the mall with closed shops.

Have a great weekend!

Stay safe and take care!

hello...yes its me...please send a car to king's cross as there seems to be a situation...It could turn ugly... yes, I have the documents...I think I may have been followed...

Most of my friends are unmarried. It’s more common than not, among those in my circle, and I do live in a city where it’s more acceptable to be of my age, and single. As a child, I always assumed I would walk down the aisle, in a gown, have children, and live in a house with a yard. Sometimes, however, fate has other intentions.

I use photography to express myself and this is how I feel right now.

Standing Still - Roman Lob

Girl, this ain't giving up

It's knowing where to stop

Knowing when a thing is over

I know my life is blind

See for the first time

This ain't gonna bring us closer

I'm standing still

And I'm just standing still

As you leave me now

And I'm just standing still

When winter's come along

And summer's dead and gone

Is there anything left here to say?

I can put my arms around

The emptiness I found

And find a way to make you stay

My internet router/moden died on me on the 23rd of December, since then I've had no access to Flickr - hence no uploads and no comments. Sorry. My provider says I should have the new hardware by the 2nd of January... I'll try and make some comments before then, but please forgive me - I'm not ignoring you! I uploaded these recent shots using my friends' connection.

Please view in full size for the best effect.

I don't usually do this, but I did drive a good distance to photograph my old friend.

Hooray we are back into our Flickr account after 12 Hours ! and oddly enough 12 days, and to think Rome was built in a day⚒😂

Fortunately Hoof had appointed Horace head of counter espionage recently, so after the rascals at smug as a bug or whatever the new owners of Flickr are called locked me out of my account with lots of red writing and funny messages👹 Horace swung into action and needed to break the code so I could get back in.

He went about this in a very gentlemanly way to begin with, he took a letter up to the the village Post Office and sent to SAAB asking very kindly that we be allowed back onto Flickr, guess what even with recorded delivery they would not answer.

Horace being as sharp as one of Mrs P’s knitting needles remembered during the Flickr down time there was a competition where the prize was 2 Million pounds (did you all enter) if you downloaded the “Good Panda” and in Flicker’s words (I have them infront of me”) Take your little Panda on an adventure somewhere.🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

So Horace who has been coached by the best of the best in exhibition drinking Denzil Penberthy, (you know the guy who is in charge of security at St Michael’s Mount) thought we need to take this so called good panda out into the field and extricate the code out of him by loosening his tongue with a bit of falling down fluid.🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

In no time at all the panda was as drunk as a skunk, he slurred over the code and the rest is history.😋😛😝😜

Good to be back in so to speak, will try to catch up as and when, modern technology “what can possibly go wrong”😂😂😂

Have a lovely week, thank you for looking 😁🐎🐷🍷🍷🍷😂😂😂

Charges for Ottawa Airport pickups suddenly increased by 400% for local taxi drivers and they were protesting.

Ottawa Police finally re-opened the Airport Parkway road after protesting taxi drivers had closed the road in protest. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

On our way to the park yesterday morning, I stopped the Mini to take a photo of some beautiful white daffodils. Benni howled in protest, didn't want a stop on the way to the park, but I got out anyway and was taking the photo when I heard an ominous "CLICK".

Yep, she had locked me out, keys, phone, everything inside and the windows rolled up. She then got in the passenger seat where she isn't allowed, (back seat only) and stared at me.

So, it being too far to walk home and leave her locked up and much further than I wanted, I went knocking on doors. The second try I got a very nice woman with a little barky dog who let me phone home. Don had gone outside to clean up after the rain so no one answered. Then, Dot, the very friendly woman, offered to drive me home to get a key.

Don took me back to the Mini, Benni jumped into the back seat before I crossed the street to open the car door and on we went to the park. This photo of Benni Bad Girl was taken after a good lot of ball playing in the park, sitting in back where she belongs. Lesson learned.
