Macro Mondays, theme: Lockdown Song

"... On the last day I took her where the wild roses grow

And she lay on the bank, the wind light as a thief

And I kissed her goodbye, said, "All beauty must die"

And I lent down and planted a rose 'tween her teeth

They call me The Wild Rose

But my name was Elisa Day

Why they call me it I do not know

For my name was Elisa Day ..."

HMM- the macromonday theme for today, 1/25, is music- song titles, albums, or general genre. i have 9 possibilities. "Putting on the Ritz" and "Penny Lane" are my two favorites

Macro Monday ...... Theme " Lockdown song, album or genre "

The task is to chose a song by interpreting this through a photograph.

I have chosen a old popular Motown hit of the 70's by Gladys Knight and the Pips, a classic hit of that era.

Love song

Some say love, it is a river

That drowns the tender reed

Some say love, it is a razor

That leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love, it is a hunger

An endless aching need

I say love, it is a flower

And you, its only seed

One of my favourite ever pieces of music is Delibes' Flower Duet from the opera Lakmé. The duet is sung by Lakmé, the daughter of a Brahmin priest and her servant Mallika whilst gathering flowers from a river. For me it’s one of those truly uplifting pieces of music that touches the soul and transports me to the banks of that beautiful river 💕

OK, the flowers should be blue lotuses under a dome of white jasmine and roses but in January lockdown England I had to go more for symbolism - ie these two little flower blooms - a flower duet.

For this week's Macro Mondays theme 'Lockdown Song'. HMM!

Many thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images.

The weather is bad, put some Reggae on!

When we used to buy Vinyl or CDs, sometimes we got lucky and bought an album on which we liked pretty much every song. Babylon By Bus was/is such an album. I love it still!

I took the bus and the signpost in one take but added the snow afterwards. The bus is a USB stick which I used in MM years ago. The signpost is made from a toothpick.

brought this one from India in 2007 and still like it very much. when I shot the pic for "Smile on Saturday" this song from the 80s came to my mind and it is so true for 2020! in fact it went round and round in my head in the beginning of 2020! LIVING IN A BOX by LIVING IN A BOX.

MACRO MONDAYS

Theme : "Lockdown Song" - January 25, 2021

Lockdown Song: While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is Lockdown song. I must admit I’m very bad at music… Singing and dancing are a challenge… Also, I can listen to one song for a very, very long time without even noticing that it was playing forever… Luckily for me my husband is the one in charge of music at our home. After all, he is a very talented musician with his own awesome YouTube channel (and if you want to see by yourself here is the link: www.youtube.com/c/NuTrixTheSynthGuy/about). And my husband si truly into electronic music so that is our main lockdown musical genre playing everyday. If i have to name one band it is Daft Punk for sure.

My picture was inspired by electronic music and you can see some kind of device to make music (I have absolutely no idea how does it work so dont ask me…). Of course, Red Lady, who was a very successful DJ few years ago, is here with us since she loves electronic music !!

I hope you will like this picture my friends ! I wish you all an amazing day and a beautiful new week !! See you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

I have chosen as lockdown song: "Time" from the group Alan Parsons Project.

... Time, flowing like a river

Time, beckoning me

Who knows when we shall meet again if ever

But time, keeps flowing like a river... To the sea ...

We All Stand Together" is a song by Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus.

"Candle in the Wind" is a threnody with music and lyrics by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. It was originally written in 1973, in honor of Marilyn Monroe, who had died 11 years earlier. In 1997, John performed a rewritten version of the song, "Candle in the Wind 1997," as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales.

I never shot much Kodachrome, I was more a tri-x man! But i loved this song, I got my Nikon FM (new above!) when I was 16 a couple of years after the song came out, I use to drive everyone crazy singing it!

A Sea Shanty from the 19th century that has just gone viral on TikTok. A collaborative global response to pandemic isolation, it has seen singers and musicians layering harmonies atop the original recording by Scottish Postie Nathan Evans.

During this particular period, I pulled out my vynils and plunged back into the songs of my youth, with Queen and the album "A night at the opera" in mind, on which is this song "I'm in love with my car" composed and sung by Roger Taylor.

I love musical movies. During the confinement I saw "Paint your car" again. I like all of his songs, but I especially enjoyed listening to Lee Marvin sing "Wandering Star". He wasn't a singer, but I can't imagine this song with someone else's voice
