“Dreams do come true...never stop believing.”
Quote― Josh Davis
Little monster swimming on almost melted ice.......is this the long expected offspring of the Loch Ness Monster? ;-))
She rose out of the depths of the Scottish Highlands and turned into a beautiful black cat that lives with my parents in Rochester, NY. The Lochness Monster loves to hide away in the attic but, when no one else is around, like any good furry monster, she can't resist a cuddle, especially if it is in the middle of the night!

The early morning mist begins to bring the swamp to life......
There is wonder, anticipation, and mystery as to what might be lurking out there in those wee hours of the dawn.
There's just no place like it though. Solitude like no other.
It brings such a warm & tranquil feeling upon those who experience this.....especially for the very first time.
Add it to your bucket list......guaranteed you won't be disappointed.
Thanks for dropping by for a peek.
Have a Blessed Sunday friends.
My Scottish friends like Ilona and Duncan may be sorry to hear that Nessie has recently washed ashore on the west coast of Norway!

... and explore the (supposedly) known as well as the unknown. We want to support or refute the expected, and be skeptical but open to the unexpected and perhaps supposedly impossible.
Just imagine all of the wee ones
Who have drawn you with green crayons
All the tourists
Who crowd around the dark water
Searching endlessly
All of the Scots
Who claim they don’t believe but
Secretly Hope.
I was swallowed whole
This is where I live now
Inside Loch Ness
Swimming with static and
Mythical creature digestive fluid
Trying to create new routines of existence
Patterns of mindfulness
So I don’t lose track of time completely.
I don’t dream of monsters anymore
I only fantasize about mundane things now
Bike riding on land with my own two legs
Planting seeds and looking forward to summer
Marking the changing heights of children with a pencil
Surprising my friends with a delicious vegan haggis
Hiking up large boulders without falling
Marveling at Scottish castles
Even if Nessy surfaced
You still wouldn’t see the me inside of her
Sitting and waiting to be digested
Trying to meditate about how deep water can get
And how imaginations can lead to a disastrous reality.
You can point at the dark abyss
And say that monsters don’t exist.
Reserved only for story books in secret nooks
That is your right.
But as for me, I believe.

Its not Monsters that scare me, for Myths and Legends can't hurt me, its people and cruelty that make me afraid..... Thought of the week ~ KissThePixel2018
Hello dear friends ☺
Another photo taken during the cold month of last March.
I've showed this photo to people who thought the reflection resembled a monster mouth about to eat the sun! 🐊
Others thought it looked like a camel (minus reflection) salivating :-) 🐪
I myself even see a dinosaur, with the treeline creating a spiky back on the creature!
(update!) Many friends in the Comments have mentioned "Loch Ness Monster"! So I gotta add that Tag as well :-) 🐍
Dear friends, you don't have to read on... the following is just some info on how difficult this one was to capture!
As you can see, there was still ice upon the water (as well as icicles hanging from the extended log)... and I had to walk out on top of crushed ice chunks to get this shot.
Problem was, I couldn't place my camera lens any lower to line-up the shot correctly.
My Sony camera was literally touching the water (battery compartment on the bottom)... and my camera isn't weather proof.
Another problem was that each time my camera touched the water, it created ripples which destroyed the reflection I had in mind.
I never managed to get a mirror-perfect reflection, as my body weight and subtle movements (shifting & breathing) continuously caused some waves upon the water (and I had to be on the ice plates to get this specific angle).
So I hunkered down upon the crushed ice plate... steadied myself carefully, pressed my camera down against the water, waited til the ripples disappeared, pressed the shutter button, quickly raised the camera from the water and wiped it dry... and then repeated again & again until I got the shot I wanted ;-)
These are the moments in photography you never forget !
I enjoyed the adventure even more than the photograph, but I do like it as well :-)
Brings a smile to my face each time I see it : )
Dedicating this one to our special friends here in the community (you know, those people here who always have a glow about them... the ones you are always happy to visit and be visited by!) ☺
Wishing you guys a wonderful day ahead!
Thanks for everything!
☺☺☺

One of the first images of the Loch Ness Monster emerging from the chilly depths and revealing it's true form.
What a absolute pleasure to be so lucky photographing the elusive monster splashing through the murky loch.
Well I do let my imagination run wild sometimes, today is one of those days!
I do hope you like my fishy friend?
Love & Peace everyone!
Making of the monster image.
For this week's challenge on Macro Mondays I chose a small banana that looked rather fishy, I sliced the upper part of Nessie to follow the sliced food aspect of the theme, then although there was a mark in the eye area I chose to insert a small coloured pin to add realism.
Placed Nessie on a blue background and there we have it .... a mythical creature breaking through the Scottish waters of Loch Ness.
Loch Ness is quiet and calm on a beautiful day. No monsters and no monster hunters to be seen anywhere. A serene and peaceful place to visit.
Saw this cormorant at Lake Livingston in Texas. We were having a great camping/fishing trip. This just reminded me so much of the old picture that claimed to be of the Loch Ness Monster. That photo may have been a hoax, but this one is real....honest!

Unfortunately, the monster decided not to show up... maybe next time! :-)

Loch Ness Monster ("Nessie") is what this looks like to me
When scouring Google Earth for unusual formations (inset), I noticed a red stain on a cliff that resembled the Loch Ness Monster. When I hiked to it on April 23, 2023, here's how it looked.
This was the last point of interest after 6.4 miles of exploring that day, and I had another mile back to the car, so I didn't linger. But I wanted to document that the Paria Nessie has been sighted!
Nessie is visible from the Wrather Canyon road toward the east if you know where to look.

The midges where absolutely horrific here, and I had no deet or midgey net. However, nothing will stop me getting my picture...or in this case x2, blended using Lumi32 which makes 32 bit luminosity masks for photoshop, allowing total precise control of the edit.
PVC pipe version!! 😀

The Loch Ness Monster is a cryptid that is reputed to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. The most frequent speculation is that the creature represents a line of long-surviving plesiosaurs. The legendary monster has been affectionately referred to by the nickname "Nessie" since the 1950s.
The earliest legend about the Loch Ness monster recorded is the story of the Irish monk Saint Columba’s encounter with the beast. During is pilgrimage in Scotland to spread Christianity across the land, on his way to visit with the Pictish king in Inverness, he encountered some Picts burying what remained of one of their own people, badly savaged by a creature in the Loch. Columba ordered one of his followers to swim over to the other side of the water and retrieve the dead man’s boat. During this the servant was attacked by a creature. Columba (invoking the name of God) commanded the beast to return to whence it came and it vanished beneath the waters of the Loch leaving the swimming man unharmed.
It was not until 1933 that the monster became world famous as the world newspapers reported the story. So keep your eyes on the loch as you travel around, you never know you may be lucky and spot the monster too.

The beautiful view of Loch Ness facing south. It is so wild feeling and untouched, I wonder if Nessie really is swimming about in there...

Giving new meaning to the Loch Ness Monster, as "The Spirit of the Air Force" heads up Loch Ness near Fort Augustus.
This is my brother Rob with a monster Pike he caught while trolling through Chippewa Harbor. We had only fished for about 15 minutes before it hit. It was the first Pike we caught this trip. (definetly not the last, we ended up landing about 30 pike, this being the largest, and lost just about as many.) 7 inch perch colored Rapala was the lure used. The funny thing about this shot was that just before this fish hit, Rob set his Fishing pole in the pole holder so he could take off his long johns, as it was getting really warm that day. He also had one shoe off as well and I have a vertical shot of him and the pike that shows the missing shoe and the loosened belt. This fish weighed 24 Lbs.
At 5 am in the morning on Saint Patricks day on a Sunday from the murky black sedge of the water at night in Scotland nearby what is Uraquart castle something rises its neck out of the water and plunges down back into the water and swims deep into the blackness beneath the water surface.
This hedge/tree seemed a little prehistoric and monster-like to me!!...someone is watching from beyond the hedge too. A bit like "Where's Wally?"!
This was a bit of a rush job, been busy all day!! Yep, this is the Loch Ness Monster!!
Keep Safe Everyone!

My Grandson has been after me ever since we got back from Ireland and Scotland to see if I caught “Nessie” the Loch Ness Monster. I told him I thought so but had so many pictures to look through it might be awhile. My Grandson’s birthday is coming up next month so I plan on giving him a framed print of this for his wall in their new house. (Don’t look to close, I did my best on this) This was shot at Urquhart Castle that is on Loch Ness in northern Scotland.
