Inside the Russell Industrial Center, an abandoned factory in Detroit.

Taken in an effort to reproduce some of the qualities of 19th century French photographer Eugene Atget's work.

Wonderful loading dock in an alley in the loop. One of the last places to lose character in a city is the alleys where all the heavy lifting gets done.

An uncommon view, being level with the bottom of a door, with lots of right angles.

On the tram line, off of 6th Ave. (a little west of 13th St.), Ybor City.

I never realized until now that these "new" tram tracks were just built on old railroad right-of-ways. Interesting.

This underpass takes the road on Michigan Central Station's west side down and under the mainline tracks that stretch from west to east along the south side of the station. This is looking south.

On the left in this picture is the long row of loading docks that served the station when it was a bustling hub of commerce and travel.

This was the background on my computer for a while, years ago.

This is the end of a timber in an old loading dock near the railroad tracks in Petersburg, Virginia. I was fascinated with how the components of the wood seem to be desperately trying to escape from one another.

if only people were this wild about art

"Oh look another tobacco prizery from the 1800s in Danville, Virginia: What a huge surprise," I said sarcastically.
