this is on a block in brooklyn that i'm fascinated with. the block has an amazingly unique building, which i've taken a bunch of photos of, but haven't yet posted any. i'll post one soon.
i recently watched "dave chappelle's block party" and was surprised to see that the party was held/filmed on this block. i guess i shouldn't be surprised that i'm not the only one fascinated with it.
in the movie, dave interviews the people who own the amazing building i'm in love with, and they invite him in to see the inside. i can't tell you how happy i was to meet the owners, hear the history, and get the tour, even via movie. it's convinced me that the next time i'm on that block, i'm going to knock on the door.
aside from the place of filming, the movie was good. i recommend it.

i could've gotten a bit closer and shot a pic of this side of the building, but i was scared that i'd be noticed by the police or the security guards, so i kept some distance from the building, and shot this. this is of the west side(Canal St.?) side of the building, looking down at the fenced-off former loading area.
I thought it was weird that the windows had been updated here on the building on the right, while the older building hadn't seen any change in years.
The Canonet would have eaten this shot up, with any kind of film. But all I had was the Easyshare. So I apologize for the (digital) noise.
