I believe this is an old abandoned auxiliary/support building for the highly successful, but now defunct, Gonzales Cotton Mill. The mill was a massive two story structure built in 1900 and operated until the 1950s. This building became home to Weiser Feeds after the mill closed. At the bottom of the Wieser Feeds sign, painted in black, it reads Gonzales Cotton Mill. Perhaps that was done to gently remind the public of the significance of the old structure. On April 23, 2006, I rode a Speeder from Cordele to Plains, Georgia on a trip sponsored by NARCOA (aka North American Rail Car Owners Association). Since I don't own a Motor Car (aka a Speeder), I rode with a friend who owns two Motor Cars. These are some photos that I took during my trip on the Heart of Georgia Railroad.
On our way from Plains, Georgia back to Cordele & ultimately Pitts, Georgia, we passed by
this Brick Building with Advertisements Painted on the Brick Side next to the Heart of Georgia railroad Track. This is located in the City of Cordele.
We are headed to Pitts, Georgia which was our Speeder "Set On Point" to remove our Speeder from the HOG Railroad for our Trip Home.
