What Were We Thinking?

When we bought our house, the backyard was basically weeds and dirt. When we got our tax return we decided that we would put a real lawn in.

Here are the before pictures.

12 x 12 Digital page using Angel Mother free digi kit by Summer Driggs, which she just posted this morning! When I saw the kit I had my inspiration for today's LO.

It was a bit of an emotional LO to do...the journaling reads:

"It's hard to think or write about it. This Mother's Day I celebrate that you are still with us, but mourn the loss of the mom I knew and loved. Alzheimer's disease has robbed you of your memory and many normal functions, and it has taken you away from us in spirit. There are still glimpses of the woman you were, but they are fewer and further between. It's hard to see you like that, so in some ways I prefer to remember you as you were - full of life, love and laughter. You taught me so much about being a great mom...I hope I can live up to your example. And I wish I could share it all with you. I love you always. Noreen"

I plan on posting a little bit more about this LO on my blog if you'd like to drop by - www.noreensmith.blogspot.com

Used Imaginese papers from the Scooter line. Today's challenge was to use the song title "Stuck Like Glue" for a layout. Some people think of their significant others, but I thought of my dog and how he loves his boys. He's truly stuck like glue to them!

Title is Photoshopped directly on the main photo and supporting photos are at the top.

Our second stop in our five day cruise from Tampa was Havana, a city I have never been - and thought I would never be able to visit. This is the reason we were on the cruise - and it did not disappoint. I have many, many, many pictures to load - but I wanted to start with the beautiful 1944 Faro Castillo del Morro - the Castillo del Morro Lighthouse or Havana Lighthouse. These were taken on the ship on the way in and out of port (some BEAUTIFUL ones were taken on the way out). They were also taken during our bus tour stop at Fortress of San Carlos de La Cabaña as well as when we were in port. Taken on an amazing day in Havana (day three of our cruise) - Friday October 13th, 2017.

Last layout of the month. WOWeeeee. I thought I'd leave you with a little eye candy to end the month. Yes, that's really Mr. Buble. ;)

It's been great, everyone! Thanks for all the really nice comments and all the people who checked out my work. I enjoyed seeing what you all created - what a talented group you are! Until February! xoxo

I found some fun free elements/items off of the Two Peas in a Bucket website. The design is mine (didn't use a template) but the "paper" and "embelishments" are from Brandy Buffington's Holiday Party collection. The Happy New Year overlay is from Rhonna Farrer's New Year Kit. I am really having way to much fun with this digi stuff. These photos are some I took New Years Eve - Owen was in a goofy mood that night. I am really pleased with how this layout turned out. I hope you like it too.

We spent weeks at anchor off Thailand, loading Tapioca from a series of barges. The Tapioca came onboard in sacks, and a huge workforce was needed to empty the bags into the massive holds. All the local workers lived on deck in temporary tents.

Terrible timing on my part. About 6 shop stewards were loading this taxi with identical bags, and it looked pretty wild, but I missed my chance. I guess I was too far away anyway.
