This old tub had been sitting in a yard on the outskirts of Blackpool for several years, in a state of abandoned preservation. It is a Fordson ET6 with Bellhouse Hartwell body, new as a non-PSV to the Friern Mental Hospital at New Southgate, London, in 1952. It had been in preservation since at least the mid-1970s, but with not a lot of progress being made, as can be seen here.
The next year, in 1985, things started to look better for it, when it appeared at Gordon Ford's main dealer site in Hazel Grove, but again nothing seemed to have happened to it whenever I got a glimpse of it. It was later sold on, and has been resident in Northumberland for nearly 30 years, but what state it is now in I have no idea. The number plate seems to have been voided on DVLA, possibly due to it not having been either taxed or SORNed for many years - or has it been declared as scrapped ?
