Cadillac’s Northstar LMP is back, heavily modified by Nigel stroud. Chrysler return with the sleek new SP1 built by Dallara (who also build the Audi tubs) and run by the French Oreca team. Panoz gambles with a completely new car. Designed by Andy Thorby, built by a new team at Elan, and powered by a new compact lightweight 4.0 Zytek V8, the LMp07 kept only the signature front-engine roadster layout from the successful LMP-1.
After 2000's taste of victory, Audi return for a repeat with a pair of slightly updated r8s, and they bring some friends for backup. A customer program supplies two private teams running last year's winning version of the R8; Stefan Johansson sporting the much-loved Gulf livery, and the highly successful Champion team from the US ALMS series.
Remember the "other" Audi from 1999? The sleek but somewhat troubled Audi R8c coupe was developed and run by British firm RTN. Lessons learned, that team re-emerges wearing Bentley colors and powered by a reworked version of the faultless Audi v8 from the R8's.
In the smaller/lighter 675 class, Lola and a reinvigorated MG brand bring the new EX275 with a new team and a mighty new turbo 4 cylinder engine.
France’s Courage continues their presence in the top prototype class with the tidy C60.

hi folks just a post on run as i grab some brief internet access. off in Wales on holiday this week. found some electricity to plug into ;-)))
This is my first "successful" attempt at using POV Ray to render an image from LDD, as well as my first upload to Flickr. The windshield doesn't look right to me, and I was hoping the mini-figure inside would show up a bit better. Perhaps a better angle is needed. The wheel wells (fenders?) don't look as round as they should either. With those issues aside, I was happy enough to upload and share the render.
The model itself is 8-wide, seats a full mini figure and has minor detailing for the cockpit and engine. The air scoop is a tad high but I couldn't avoid that. The mirrors on the other hand, leave something to be desired and I would love some ideas on how to improve them. Maybe even going as far as removing them all together.
Tell me what you think. Comment and critique the model as well as the render itself, and thanks for looking =)

Inspired by ER0L's amazing work, and by the new Speed Champions sets and the new Technic 24 Hours Racecar.
My "old" C 01-11 prototype faced some further development. For me it was the very first time to conceptualize a car in LDD and then build it "in the brick". The LDD file will be available soon via my MOCpage.
The ne Prototype Coupé features a fully equipped cockpit with 4-point racing harness, water bottle and opening doors, detailed engine with removable cowling as well as a removable front / nose section. Not suitable for LEGO-purists, the front wheels were modified to include a possible steering... a hint to a future project.
This MOC celebrates Lugnuts 4th anniversary and pays tribute to three former challenges:
"Color me strange" - white and green are on the list of strange colors
"Lemons or Le Mans" - I hope it's not a Lemon as it was built to RACE!
"Octan Racing" - I guess this is my favorite challenge... just like the paint scheme
