Huntington Beach, California is located in the Pacific Flyway for migrating birds. This makes it an ideal place to bird watch. Two places open to the public are Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve wetlands and Library Huntington Central Park, a birders' delight all year long and especially during the April/May and September/October migrations. 228 species of birds have been spotted in the Park, to date, offering birders an opportunity to see locals as well as discover new species. Don't be surprised to see an occasional vagrant exotic, as well.Favorite bird watching throughout the park includes owls sometimes perched in Eucalyptus trees.
I just could not get close to the birds at Thursley today, but the Lizards were quite happy to be photographed while basking in the sun. Taken with my Sigma 50-500mm Macro lens !!
Spotted by my wife whilst we were out on a walk thisafternoon with my new toy (Tamron 150-600!). The lens has needed fine tuning since my initial outing (I collected it this morning) as there was a slight back focus, but that could be my camera. I will try to catch up with you all very soon but tomorrow I'm off to see the Chichester Cathedral peregrines, so forgive me if I'm a little behind with your images. I am looking at them but will catch up with comments soon. I hope you all have a great weekend in the sunshine (if you have it...)
Not sure of my ID. I don't know what this California/Nevada lizard is doing in Colorado! More research required.
