I don't like to see horses and any other animal performing in a circus. It's not the place of this wonderful animal. But I'm obliged to admit that the Knie's circus has always had beautiful horses which are very well treated !

The Lake is one of Central Park's most important scenic destinations. This 20-acre water body connects the Ramble, Bethesda Terrace, and various west side landscapes to form what is often called the heart of Central Park.

Note: "The San Remo" in the background is where the rich and famous lives.

Today my daughter & I visited here, I wanted to take some water lilies there, but, none of them, except one lotus lily, so disappointing tho. But, we had a grand time visiting MoMA. It was hot today, but, later in the late afternoon it got a little cooler. There's always a lot to see in Manhattan, esp. now, with a lot of tourists and so forth.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

the familiar Robin is not very shy and its attractive plumage has made it popular with generations of gardeners; in fact the robin is part of a very aggressive bird species, and some males sometimes fight to death to defend their territory. Present in almost every garden, it is one of the least wild birds, seeking its food near the humans in the process of gardening. It will go as far as feeding on live prey, such as earthworms or mealworms, presented by hand. If the winter is rough, it will become even more familiar, as the lack of food caused by snow and ice makes it very vulnerable.

The robin defends a territory all year long, except during the moult and if the winter is very cold. In winter, females also occupy and defend a territory. It is necessary for them not only to nest, but also to guarantee a sufficient source of food. A robin without territory dies after a few weeks. That's why this space is defended with such energy. In general, it is enough for the owner to show his red shirt so that the intruder recoils, but it can happen that the struggle begins and the fighting sometimes ends with the death of one of the opponents.

In contrast to many other birds, the robin lives alone during the fall and winter male and female remaining in their respective winter territories with the result that they continue to sing even in winter.

The robin seems to see well in the dark because it is still active at night when there is no light.

This specie lives in most of continental Europe. It kills its prey with a poison that paralyze and dissolve their internal organs in a few seconds. It is a useful specie in the garden to fight other insects.

The tiny harvest mouse lives in long tussocky grassland, reedbeds, hedgerows, farmland and around woodland edges. It is mainly vegetarian, eating seeds and fruits, but will also eat invertebrates. Harvest mice build a spherical nest of tightly woven grass, high-up in the tall grasses, in which the female will give birth to around six young. The harvest mouse has pale, ginger or yellow fur, and a white belly. Its tail is almost hairless and nearly as long as its body. The harvest mouse is the only British mammal to have a prehensile tail: it can use it like a fifth limb, holding on to grass stems with it. UK population 1,425,000. The population trend is unknown but it is thought that numbers have declined in the last 40 years and they are now rare. They mainly occur in southern and eastern England, with a few records in the Midlands, the north of England and southern Scotland. They are absent from Ireland.

Harvest mice shred grasses by pulling them through their teeth and use the strips to weave a hollow nest, about the size of a tennis ball, about 50 – 100cm above the ground and secured to grass stems.

Scotch Argus Butterfly:

Despite its name, the Scotch Argus is not only found in Scotland; it is also found at two sites in the north of England. A freshly emerged Scotch Argus is a sight to behold; the dark brown velvety upper sides making the butterfly appear almost jet black from a distance. The butterfly is unmistakable when seen basking with its wings open, when orange bands containing distinctive spots are revealed. This butterfly lives in well-defined colonies that are often very large.

Like the Mountain Ringlet, the ability of this butterfly to survive cool temperatures means that it was probably one of the first species to recolonise the British Isles after the last ice age, over 10,000 years ago. The English colonies, Arnside Knott and Smardale Gill, are both found in Westmorland. Colonies are much more numerous in Scotland, where this butterfly can be found in most of northern, western and southwest Scotland. This butterfly is absent from the lowlands of central Scotland, many of the western isles (including the Outer Hebrides), Orkney and Shetland.

Life expectancy in those days for males was only around 22.5-25 years and at 35-37 years for females.
