Every year before Christmas, this house in Livemore displays hundred thousands of Christmas lights to attract its neighbors' attention. The owner, Deacon Dave, asks for a token donation from the people who tour his front yard. The property is a gigantic glob of dazzling lights that you could see from a few blocks away. It is one of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I took this 3-shot bracketed HDR image handheld in an unincorporated area near Livermore three weeks ago. The image has been sitting in my hard drive until I finally made my commitment to Photomatix. I have compared it with other HDR software and I think by far Photomatix does the best job in minimizing ghosts and halos.

Taken during Thanksgiving when I made a detour to the vineyard in Livermore to catch the last glimpse of the Fall colors. I had no idea why those particular grape leaves had turned bright red instead of yellow.
