If viewed very carefully in a very dark room, you should be able to see three meteor tracks within the red outline. Two are parallel, sloping down and slightly left, and the other is to the right and slightly higher, sloping down and slightly right. Shot using "Live Composite" mode at ISO 1,600, f/1.8, 4 seconds base exposure. Eleven exposures for total 44 seconds exposure.

Live view composite shot on the Lumix S5 w/ Lumix 50mm f.18

Photograph taken at the Chevron building in Houston, Texas, USA. I used my Bower 7.5mm f3.5 fisheye lens at f5.6 to capture this scene. I captured the image using the Live Composite feature of my camera with a base exposure of 0.6 seconds. The exif doesn't contain the the total exposure time but I beleive it was around 30 seconds. The only crop was taking the photograph to a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The International Space Station was visible in our area for three minutes last night, starting at 10:15. I got the following message from SpotTheStation Friday morning.

"Fri Aug 02 10:15 PM, Visible: 3 min, Max Height: 52°, Appears: 26° above NNW, Disappears: 33° above E." I used the Olympus OM-D E-M1.2 and Olympus 8mm f/1.8 fisheye lens, and took advantage of Olympus' unique "Live Composite" mode. The base exposure was ISO 200, f/2.2, 5 seconds. The camera took 32 such images and automatically combined them into a nearly 3 minute exposure (I missed the first few seconds of the fly-over).

I'm not sure what the hazy swoop in the upper right corner is, but I suspect it was a bug that flew by. There were bright lights not very far behind me.

Pet Exercise Area - Experimenting with LiveComposite mode for a daytime shot. In this case the goal was to smear the clouds into some abstract shapes and smooth out the lake. To get the daylight long exposure I used a variable ND filter at its full 10 stops. 9 or 10 x 1.3 seconds in LiveComposite. Deb is standing in the background and did a masterful job of freezing in place for the entire sequence. The scenery in this park is spectacular.

Together we illuminated the „open-air supermarket“ at this extraordinary harvest festival in Munich/Germany.

Following a magnificent sunset the visitors of „Harvest good, everything ok?“ painted with their cellphone lights during a long exposure photo. The clearly visible faces belong to the Musicians of the evening (Young Chinese Dogs, Freddy González, Jason Serious, Violalilliemma & De Vadrahdn).

A big thank you to the organizers for the wonderful atmosphere and the visitors for participating at the photo performance.

More coming soon.

OLYMPUS TG-5 Live Composite mode

Taken using the live composite setting on the camera and an ND filter. I love how you can see the long exposure build up over time. Here I captured movement in the river and also of people on the riverside path and also some ducks on the water.

With the evenings starting to draw in, a late walk to get the daily steps up is giving more chance for interesting photography. Mere Green this evening, the night before Lidl opens in the morning, to start with, then some more general shots, then an odd attempt at light trails - I need more practice with the amazing Olympus Live Composite feature.
