The “Salute the Troops” broadcast in honor of Veterans Day was set in the VR-64, U.S. Navy hangar and backdropped by U.S. Air Force refueling tankers KC-10 and KC-135, and various other military vehicles including an MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle) and also included a static display from the 87th ABW’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit. It was an incredibly eventful night at the Nasher Museum last Thursday. NBC Chief meteorologist Wes Hohenstein broadcast live from the the galleries. He also spoke with Interim Director Sarah Schroth and author and art historian Nancy Ramage, great-great niece of the Cone sisters about "Collecting Matisse and Modern Masters."

After the broadcast, Nancy Ramage, a gifted storyteller, gave a talk based around the book she wrote with her mother -- "The Cone Sisters of Baltimore: Collecting at Full Tilt" (Northwestern University Press, 2008).
