The 3 Sisters rise above the Bow River as it flows thru Canmore on a stormy day. They were shy this day hiding behind their cloudy cover.

While the black & white image I took had a rich tonal contrast, the color one with this image I found brought a different set of contrasts. On the upper peaks and the left portion of the image was the golden glow of the morning sunlight. The clouds seem to wrap more of that golden glow in the peak of the Big Sister in the far backdrop of the image. On the backside of the mountainside though were textures of the rocks and layers still hidden in the shadows.
The Three Sisters catch some evening light as they tower over the Bow River in Canmore Alberta. Would love to move here.....
They are known individually as Big Sister (Faith), Middle Sister (Charity) and Little Sister (Hope). The three peaks were originally named "The Three Nuns" because they were thought to resemble three praying nuns after a veil of snow was left on each after a storm. They were officially designated as the Three Sisters in 1886.

Okay, I only got a few days for this during my trip, but it was an inspirational view to take in! This is a view to the south just a short while after sunrise one early September morning. Even after the night prior with the slight overcast skies, there were still some clouds around the peaks of the Three Sisters. In fact, one can even see the light dusting of snow on the upper portions of the peaks. Needless to say, it was a beautiful way to start off a morning!
For the image, I focused and metered on an area of the image where there was still a little bit caught in the sunlight, but not the brighter portions. My thinking was to capture as much of the highlights as I could but still have enough details in the shadows to later process with Capture NX2. I later exported a tiff image and converted that to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2.
I've been searching and dwelling on which photo I should upload today,, tonight...then I just could not even find one! Ironically I have so many photos on my computer.
Its like the situation you are in here: you have many friends and you've got many mobile phone numbers on you contact list, but you are not able to find even one person with whom you can shed a few tears. Well....

It is finally snowing outside! Winter break was suppose to end today but the snow saved me! No school! Too bad it isn't snowing a whole lot and I'm most likely going to have to go to school tomorrow.. I'm glad I got today off though! I went to waffle house this morning for breakfast and when I got home went out and took a bunch of photos with my little sister. Now I'm just relaxing and enjoying the rest of my day. :)

My oldest and youngest daughters - they already have such a special bond. When Sylvie is a bit older, I'll do a new sisters photo with all 4 of them. <3
Customary pet portrait, this time taking a bite out of Bundles' ice cream bar. It looks pretty good. :) And I think it's so cute that this bear (bear, right?) is basically a ball of yarn with ears. :D
Well, Big Brother got here and the first thing he wanted to do was to get his picture painted with Little Sister...He almost lost her once so he wanted something to remember her by just in case they got separated again... Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday, Everybody!!!!!!
Near Canmore, Alberta, Canada. My first exposure to the Canadian Rocky Mountains was via a Rocky Mountianeer Train Tour from Calgary, Alberta via Lake Louise to Vancouver, British Columbia lasting just two days. The only stop was an overnight in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Sometimes, i just have to stare at my pretty ass little sis for a moment because damn, I think I kind of snapped on her shape.
I wasn't feeling very well today, so my little sister made me this yummy brownie with vanilla icecream and chocolate sauce... mmm :)

Tommy: I've been here all along.. I live on top of one of the CD turntables... I just came to say Hello and welcome you to our home..
Li'l Sister: Well thank you, Tommy.. That makes me feel like every one is glad I decided to stay...
