I decided to take myself out of my comfort zone 'go-to choice' for tools which would have been rusty, gritty shots and upgrade to something more 'techy' in look. The smallest tool I could think of was the tiny SIM tray opening too supplied with iPhones. They are made from a patented metal called 'LiquidMetal' and is made of a mix of titanium, nickel, copper, and zirconium.
Main issue shooting this was to keep it fingerprint free, which I failed to achieve after a few attempts. Shot literally on an iPhone, not with.

I had a lot of time on my hands today so i began going through my hard drive and looking through all the images i saved on there and deleting the rubbish ones.
This is one of the shots i did with the neon paint and i thought id try tweaking the colours to see what would happen. It was originally blue but i liked the impact the red seemed to make.

Allow me to praise this lens. When Canon announced that they were discontinuing the MP-E 65mm 1-5X Macro, I shopped extensively for a good used lens, but the price was as high or higher than ever.
In my searches, I came across a very positive review of the Zhongyi and was absolutely blown away when I got it in my hands and used it.
Let me be clear, this is not a lens for most photographers. Without a rail and stacking experience, you will more than likely be quite frustrated and tempted to give up, but if you know the limitations and working requirements, the results are stellar. I'm hard pressed to find any differences in end picture quality between this lens and the Canon.
The build quality is outstanding, it works exactly in the same manner as the Canon and the value is outstanding.
Just like the Canon, this lens can quickly expose the flaws in any macro subject that can render it unattractive - dust, dirt, corrosion etc that is invisible to the naked eye but glaringly obvious under magnification.
That said, the ability to take common objects and examine and record them in a way that makes them seem otherworldly is something that never ceases to spur my imagination and creativity.

What a fantastic day yesterday in the Swiss Alps !
The P1 looks best with the rear wing up ! And Liquid Metal Blue 918 Spyder in the background was also a stunning sight with its carbon spoiler up !

What a beautiful car. It's quite a simple design really, but the 918 Spyder is utterly beautiful, and in this case the Liquid Metal Blue paint makes it look lovely !

Well it was once liquid so I'm entering this for 114 Pictures in 2014 # 5 Liquid and of course it fits the July orange theme.
During the 1960s hippy revolution my father went to metalwork evening classes given by my brother's school teacher, someone who learned his skills in industry rather than at college. He made me this medallion which was at that time the height of fashion, both the style and the colour. It still has that sense of swirling liquid metal. 191/365 in 2014
A close-up of a thin, transparent ice sheet reveals unusual patterns, textures, flow marks, chasms, and craters that emerge when illuminated just right. Despite its icy nature, the image intriguingly resembles liquid metal rather than frozen water.
The background is a water filled vegetable steamer. I pushed it into some water at the same time as taking the shot.

*I apologize for the quality because that's the best one I could retrieve since I probably deleted original images from the phone SD-card long ago.
Trying to get back into shoot from below after a brief hiatus. I love the pearlescent look of this liquid.
