Noisepop Festival Opening Night

I scratched off the gloss and the chalk pastels last night since the deep coloring is bothering me too much, and I was scared that I would stratch the matted spray on her face... I reapplied her lips with a lighter color and now it looks so plump...like she had lip injections...I'm not sure if I'll leave it this way but it's going to be a pain in the a** to remove it, again.

Went to a great workshop with Martin Shakeshaft. A eureka moment - I now get the importance of using the histogram to get a good exposure - and great to hear Martin talk about his photos of the miners strike and his project "Look back in Anger"

We put "lip injection" on Derrek's lips. They plumped up his lips...can you tell? So funny

lip-tattoo-wearers that I'd seen, and while her whole look is really skinny and kind of alien-looking, it was actually kind of striking and fairly original (what with the short hair and glasses). The mouth tattoo isn't too terrible on this one, either.

My friend Kris finally had had enough of my drawings of her with clown lips. So yesterday she gave me a 2 minute lesson in drawing mouths. (Those are her demos at the top of the page. And voila! 15 minutes later I completed my first creditable drawing of Kris. This is the first drawing of Kris that I'm not embarrassed to post. What a good teacher! I should write a testimonial for her website.http://www.kriswiltse.com/

So, hopefully, my mouth-fearing days are over. Onward to the next challenge! (Drawing a face with just watercolor only - no inkline)
