I thought for this photo I'd write a bit more, than just what I aways do -- a poem. Lions! Aren't they handsome or should I say beautiful? I'm gonna go with both. Their eyes are like another world, like a moon of dark beauty -- mysterious and wondrous. Their hair is perfection, who wouldn't be jealous of them? The way the sun makes them glow makes one's heart stop for a minute. When I'm out there chasing them down with my camera, I'm not just there to capture them -- but to tell their story. I document everything and I study my subjects. Every photo is a story -- but you are the writer. You're not there just for the photo -- you are there to write. So what are doing today? Go find your lion and let out your roar.
I hope you had a magical Christmas and have a New Year full of magic.

White lions in love. It took me about an hour to capture this shot. They kept moving and roaring, finally they sat down. There was another female but it stayed away.
this lion couple was pretty aware of what was going on at the nearby water hole but nothing worth getting up, KTP, South Africa

Another upload of one of the Kalahari lions we saw during out recent trip! Walking over the dunes! Early morning encounter! Different light!
This lion woke us up early in the morning, leaving our tent in a rush and without taking a proper breakfast! But what reward he gave us by walking over that dune back to the road leading to the tented camp, allowing us to make some nice shots!
They are so special with their black manes!

Young Lion (Panthera leo) sitting atop a rock in Ruaha National Park of Tanzania. Either the mother was out hunting or the other members of this little guys pride were hidden quite well as we never found any more Lions this day. Image taken in Tanzania.
