I wish , I could have a better angle to shoot this at eye level .
Standing at top of jeep’s last pole and that too for many hours is not a joke !
Working rigorously in Himalayas with lots of treks and climbs helped us a lot in getting those physical levels .
World is going crazy with AI tools and each day spending more time in post processing and becoming post processing gurus !
A sincere advise- spend more time in field and get maximum out of those gears , later for touch ups there are endless tools . But if you spend more time in simply correcting a badly clicked shot - you will spend most of the time in processing.

Milo's mane is really growing now and he is starting to look like a real lion not just a juvinelle, although he still has a lot of growing to do.
I can not wait to see him as an adult and his mane in all it's glory.

Whoever said that "Men were Beasts" were not wrong, I guess.
Tried my hand in editing after sometime. Not sure if you would like the result though. :)
By the way, its me in the picture.
Lionman Merchant - Beastmen in most places of the world terrify travelers but cities of Varlyrio are inhabited by highly intelligent species of Lionman who - like humans - have rejected their barbaric past and are successful in trading, poetry and politics.
I guess I'm doing Inktober again! Late, as usual. Here is a lion beast-man of the Southwestern Wilds, for Wulfgard!
Number 7 in the Edgar Rice Burroughs series.
The book has the makings of a good story -- a motion picture company in the wilds of Africa, two beautiful women, ruthless Arabs, a half-maniacal scientitst, a tribe of gorillas that he has taught to speak English, a coward who looks like Tarzan, and Tarzan himself. Plenty of thrills and a few laughs

This is a replica of the Löwenmensch, the Lion-man figurine (or Lion Man of Stadel) is an ivory sculpture discovered in 1939 in the Hohlenstein-Stadel cave in Germany.
This artifact is one of the oldest known examples of figurative art, dating to about 40,000 years ago.
The original is in the Museum Ulm in Germany.
This replica is in the Museum of Human Evolution (MEH) in Burgos, Spain.
It must be one of the most extraordinary pieces of art of all time.
The imagination and creativity and sense of unknown cultural significance is amazing. It is not some realistic representation of an animal, but instead depicts an imagined hybrid between a human being and a cave lion. The first known example in art history of art of the imagination.
I found it very contemplative/profound to stare at it and imagine its original significance and role all these millennia later. A message in a sculpture that we can only try to decypher but connects our minds and culture with those from people so long ago.
For the 125 pictures in 2025 group: number 61. Message in a picture

The Löwenmensch figurine, also called the Lion-man of Hohlenstein-Stadel, is a prehistoric ivory sculpture discovered in Hohlenstein-Stadel, a German cave, in 1939. The German name, Löwenmensch, meaning "lion-person" or "lion-human", is used most frequently because it was discovered and is exhibited in Germany. Determined by carbon dating of the layer in which it was found to be between 35,000 and 41,000 years old, it is one of the oldest-known examples of an artistic representation and the oldest confirmed statue ever discovered. Its age associates it with the archaeological Aurignacian culture of the Upper Paleolithic. Source and more information on Wikipedia.
Twyfelfontein, officially known as /Ui-//aes, is a site of ancient rock engravings in the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia.
The site has been inhabited for 6,000 years. (Wikipedia)
The most impressive single engraving depicts the 'Lion Man', a lion depicted with prey in its mouth and five toes on each foot and the tip of its tail.
The ‘Lion Man’ engraving shows five tows on each paw, whereas in real life a lion only has four toes. The deliberate combination of human and animal features shows that this is a shaman who has transformed into a lion. (African World Heritage Sites)
Not to sound flippant, but it must have been hard for him to blow his nose?
I think his artist name was Lionel, but I am not sure, otherwise it was someone else who looked like this.

Out in the country watching cars go by
I go around in circles;
Weep for yourself, my man,
You'll never be what is in your heart
Weep little lion man,
You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself,
Take all the courage you have left
Wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head
Left to Right:
Lionman: A ferocious warrior who fights to free his brethren from Uandian slavery.
Mummy Legionnaire: One of the Desert King's finest soldiers. He is far more deadly than the typical water-fearing cowards that serve in the Desert King's forces
Ka-a-Sobek: A feared warrior, and the leader of the dreaded Nile Crocs( My Sir-Brick-a-Lot)
Hunter: A ruthless exterminator who travels Kaliphalin. He sided with the Desert King after witnessing the Desert Kings brutal extermination of all the Drow in Kaliphalin

Innocenzo Cibo (* 25. August 1491 in Florenz; † 23.
WHILE VISITING STARK INTERNATIONAL'S MELBOURNE BRANCH IN AUSTRALIA IRON MAN FINDS AN OLD ENEMY LION IN WAIT TO AMBUSH HIM!!
Tony Stark, aka the invincible Iron Man, strained to his power armoured limits as he battled the Mandarin's metal minion.
"Urggghhh! Can't you read, damnit!!" he growled at his arch enemy's leonine hench-mane. Had the red and gold Avenger a hand to spare he would have angrily tapped the label stencilled on the top of his helmet.
"CAUTION- CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE. DO NOT PUNCTURE!"
The giant metal moggy merely bit down harder....
Well then.
Tony locked his armour into 'brace' mode and powered up his repulsor rays. He didn't have time to be lion around all day playing chew toy with 'Clarence' here. Before he triggered the mighty weapons Iron Man spared a moment for a traditional superheroic quip, "Sorry, gotta blow! Got an appointment at....tooth-hurty!!"
PEW!! PEW!!

For some time now I've had my evil photographic eye on this sculpture in the Tianjin Garden at the top end of Spring Street in Gillot Reserve, surrounding the northern acces for the Parliament Loop Station. The little garden is a symbol of Melbourne's close friendship with its twin city in China, Tianjin and serves, ironically, as a far eastern gateway to Melbourne's 'Chinatown' in Little Bourke Street where, incidentally, my father was born last century. The peaceful little garden was completed in 2000, cost over $1 million and was commissioned to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the sister city relationship. The white marble lions guarding the garden's entrance were a gift from the Tianjin city government. Not sure about these bronze ones.
As I've noted elsewhere in my photostream, these kind of Rui Shi (“auspicious lions”) are positioned as guardians. The male of the pair, has right paw clutching the flower of life, an item of complex mythical symbolism, while the female has a cub under her left paw. This one was female, which is somewhat predictable given Tony's history with the ladies!
The Asian lion was not native to China, and it is said that Chinese sculptors, who had not seen specimens from India, based their characterisations of the beasts upon dogs, which is why the stylised works have a definite canine aspect to them.
The action figure, of course, is one of the Hasbro 6 inch I.M movie Mk 3 ones.
Available Tomorrow, March 25th at 2:00pm CST through Burlesque of North America.

These are all the Nakajima opponent type 2 mini's as far as I'm aware ... some of the figure catalogues show a King Saturn mini but I dont think it was produced.

Vishnu is one of the great gods of Hinduism in India. According to religious myths and stories, Vishnu incarnates in ten different forms for the well-being of humanity.
The Lion-man was one of Vishnu's first incarnations. He assumed this hybrid form to destroy Hiranya Kashipu, an evil demon who could not be killed by men, animals or gods.
This statue dates to AD 900 from Tamil Nadu, in South India. It is currently on display at the British Museum.
