Well well..... I did it.  I went mad.  I went and did something I was

not supposed to do.  I let Microsoft behind.  BUT WHY? .. after all the

things that MS has done for computers for you and the world? ...

why?!!?  Well.... at first it was just a frustration with using XP and

all of the updates and the sluggishness of my computer.  I thought

about Apple. ( I love my ipod) but the $ required to move to Apple is

quite a bit and while Apple has slick hardware.... it comes at a price.

I turned to Linux.  In particular Fedora.

What programs do you use you may ask?  What about WORD and EXCEL ?

Well my friends fret not for the wonderful world of GEEKs has provided

us with solutions.  You ever see revenge of the nerds?  Well... they

are in full force trying usurp the power of their defected GEEK friend

Billy.  Now.. do they have problems within their internal community as

GEEKS.. sure they do.. and that is a future post but for now... focus

on the fact that you could live daily and never use a Microsoft product

on your computer.  Sound intriguing come on admit it.

I will start with EXCEL.  Why ?  Cause I love it.  Take a look at the

pix I posted.  What does it look like?  Excel. Right ... well it is

GNUMERIC. What is that you ask?  A Linux version.  And guess what?  ...

.it saves to excel format .. so you can email and send files to other

uninformed MS users.

Really ... take a look at it.  I would bet you 100$ that if I sat you

down at it .. that and ask you to use it and did not tell you... you

would not notice .... for at least 15 min ... maybe until I told you.

My point is ... FREE you mind.  MS does not own the world.  They

created standards for how we save our files. <word format, excel

format> ... but Lotus 123 was around long time ago.... MS did not

invent a spreadsheet.  Hell you remember ... paper? ...

Point it ...you have a choice.... think about it ....

Email me if you have Questions and stay tuned for future screen shots.
