Joe Brockmeier suggested the Linux Dairy Council as a way to better cooperate amond Linux distributions.
I got my Ubuntu Linux CDs (PowerPC version) in the post today. One is an installer disc, the other a 'Live CD' which means you can run Ubuntu off the disc, to trial it without installing it. I've been wanting to get an installation of linux for testing (apparently you can use SVG format for app icons, which would be great for Firefox).
This screen represents my first experience of Linux.

Linux mint 6, conky, I don't remember where I got the wallpaper. Black Fate GTK from gnome look. Radial_thinner emerald theme with OSX button layout. Bottom panel hidden.
Based on Arch Linux so seems pretty nippy at the moment in the VM.
