Viv Edwards is a singer song-writer in Mount Isa who has just discovered another creative talent. Painting has allowed Viv a chance to express herself in a more quiet, reflective fashion than she is used to. She discovered this new hobby after attending the Sustaining Connections session a few years back, through Link Up. The exhibition of the paintings from the Sustaining Connections workshop were shown at the Mount Isa Council Civic Centre last week (April 2012).

Jamrock for Japan was held on Monday April 18, 2011 at SOBs, New York, NY. This fundraiser to aid earthquake victims in Japan was hosted by David 'Squeeze' Annakie of LinkUp Media and Jamrock Magazine. Co-host was DJ Kevin Crown. Headliner of this event was Mr. Vegas. Other artistes who performed include: Under The Rasta Influence (URI), a reggae band, Red Fox, Rayvon, Screechy Dan, Yami Bolo, Beniton the Menace, Baby Chris, and Ed Robinson. There was a musical tribute by NY-based Japanese sound systems Yard Beat and King Jam. A well-attended great successful event for a great cause.

I was inspired by the trees and colors of the Jingle Belles Challenge as I had the perfect paper pad for it: Sugar Cookie Christmas.
I used a Recollections Christmas tree die received from Holley Barnhart! (Thanks so much!) I raised each of the two center layers on foam dots. If I do this again, I think I would ink the edges of the trees to make them stand out better. A few blue enamel dots and I've finished.
