The textile linen is made from Flax (Linum usitatissimum), also known as common flax or linseed. I find the flower to be exquisite.
Much of my inspiration to embroider has come from Amanda Blake Soule's blog and her book, The Creative Family.
I made this mini quilt for the 2009 Spring Mini Quilt Swap...
It measures approx. 17" square, using several lines of Heather Ross fabric, and backed in natural linen. It's bound in Amy Butler's Seeds. I quilted it using a random converging line pattern.
Thread count linen testers are used for counting textile thread counts and detailed Inspection. In addition, these little magnifiers can be used to examine coins, stamps, and other small items.

Linens found on last trip to Canton...I soaked them in "soaking magic"...they come out so pretty and white...then they are hung in sunshine to dry~ I love gathering them and smelling the clean line dryed smell....
For Caithlin changing bed linen is a welcome opportunity to play in the big bed... My collage of phone shots by Lene.
