I came across this the other day. A full set of my mother’s “good” china for sixty four dollars. It’s a high quality earthenware, some would call it Queens wear, but for her it was as fine as Lenox or Meissen. This was early in her married life and I don’t know what she expected her future would be like but she went big buying the extended set. Her set included full dining place settings for twelve plus a full tea service with tea pots and several specialized serving pieces. It was dragged out for holiday meals and we were always reminded to be careful.
Eventually we inherited it but lifestyles have changed and we rarely use it. I would guess that in the not too distant future when we shuffle off a local charity shop will have a super size set of American Limoges for sale.

As a result of a legal dispute with the Limoges China Company of France, Limoges China Company was forced to change its name to the American Limoges China Company in 1949. American Limoges also produced ceramics under the Lincoln China Company brand name, used for the production of exclusive patterns. American Limoges also had links with Salem China.
American Limoges China Company ceased operations in 1955.”
