The innermost limits of pure fun.We recently had some nice large waves hitting our beaches, the lines were as far out to sea as you could see. It was so nice to have a lovely sunny day where the sun caught the peaks of the waves and made them almost transparent and where the sun made sparkling diamonds on the sea. The park benches were off-limit, the trails weren't. People/Families thronged to enjoy the warm fall evening amidst the pandemic maintaining distance.
With this shot, I wondered what I might see if my vision were limited, to black and white. If there were no color, and even the greys were barely present. This rocky outcropping would contribute to both dimension and texture. And the brightly lit clouds would help make the point of the extreme limits of my hindered vision.
It was an experiment in extremes, and one that seems to deliver a dramatic looking scene. There was limited colour regardless, and the landscape reflected this boundary with the harsh appearance of opposites

Nos resulta mas fácil rendirnos antes que luchar por algo, así nada nos hará temer en la vida.

I have had several days off in recent weeks to keep my vacation balance under the accrual limit. It's been enjoyable to spend slow days exploring areas close to home, finding compositions that bring out the quiet beauty of the woods in the dreary days of late winter.
Mendenhall Battery along the Marin Headlands north of San Francisco. Originally posted as a black and white, re-cropped and posted in color, increasing clarity and adding more dynamic range in post processing so the text is a bit clearer. For a door assignment at local photo group.

Anamakia (Madagascar) – Quand je vois cette machine à sous, à moins de 200 mètres des limites de la décharge à ciel ouvert, je n’en crois pas mes yeux. A proximité, des dizaines de familles s’intoxiquent en triant des ordure pour gagner misérablement leur vie. Je me dis que le bandit manchot ne doit pas fonctionner. J’arrête mon scooter, je m’approche de ce petit casino local et constate que l’engin fonctionne parfaitement. L’homme introduit des pièces déclenchant un bruit de fête foraine.
Je suis resté une dizaine de minutes et malgré son acharnement à alimenter en pièces la machine, le joueur n’a rien gagné. Étonnant !
Slot Machine
Anamakia (Madagascar) – When I saw this slot machine, less than 200 meters from the open-air landfill, I couldn't believe my eyes. Nearby, dozens of families were poisoning themselves by sorting through garbage to eke out a miserable living. I figured the slot machine must be broken. I stopped my scooter, approached this small local casino, and found that the machine was working perfectly. The man inserts coins, triggering a carnival-like noise.
I stayed for about ten minutes, and despite his efforts to feed the machine coins, the player didn't win a thing. Amazing!
