No one wants an ICE storm.

先程何気なく空を見たらなんかリングに見える?すっごく薄いハロだったので設定変えたり場所を変えたり何枚も何枚も撮った。撮ってるうちにますます薄くなるしね。^^;

A lovely day at Waddeston Manor. This is a light tunnel that is part of light installations.

On the fifth day in Iceland we finally got a glimpse of the Northern Lights. The lightrs appeared on the side opposite to the Icebergs lagoon and the only foreground available was this little bar next to the parking lot. It was a rather weak and short-lived display, amazing to watch nonetheless. The northern lights truly are one of the most wonderful sights available on earth, can't wait to go chase them again!

The enormous mass of gas associated with this section of the Large Magellanic Cloud is accentuated by mapping Ionised Sulphur to Red, Ionised Hydrogen to Green and Ionised Oxygen to Blue. Broadband RGB was taken and applied to the stars only.

This 12.5hr exposure peers deep inside the Great Nebula in Orion. The ionisation of Hydrogen atoms by ultra violet radiation, emitted by massive stars deep inside the nebula, produce the predominantly red hues. Clouds of fine dust appear blue-grey due to the scattering of short visible light wavelengths in a process known as Rayleigh scattering. Cold foreground dust and dark molecular hydrogen create a fine intricate web of obscuring dark clouds. The combined atomic and optical processes coordinate to produce this stellar kaleidoscope of wispy details and colours.

Light rain to cool off the weather. Tonight we went to the hospital (nothing very bad) and we came back home by walk. Cool night though

Located in Scorpio this nebula is often refered to as the Cats Paw due to it's resemblence to a paw print. There is lots of hydrogen and dust in this area for our feline friend to leave her mark in!

Let me know if you want to see more studio shoots!

This deep image of the Helix Nebula reveals the full extent of the series of ejecta blown off by this dying star. The deep exposure reveals a long history of stellar eruptions by a once Sun like star in Aquarius. In this image the Helix Nebula is shown to actually cover several full moons worth of sky area!

Nicholas had just been presented his medal for 1st place in the Gi division of the 2011 AFBJJ Queensland Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships.

He is quiet, soft spoken but carries himself with such authority on the mat when he competes. It was a pleasure to watch him compete and a pleasure to meet him.

I also created a making of video, for those of you who are interested in seeing the editing process. just click the link, I'm uploading tutorials, behind the scenes and making ofs every now and then. :)

This is a deep image of the Sword of Orion - the three stars that make up the weapon hanging off the belt of this famous celestial hunter. The image showcases the amazing mix of physical and optical processes including atomic emission, Rayleigh scattering, reflection and absorbtion of light, that go on in this star forming region to create this kaleidescope of colours and details.
