The first double articulated trolley buses in Winterthur are in service since some days on route 1, which today changes from 6- to 7.5 minutes frequency as a consequence of the larger vehicles. I was glad to see one of the buses in service already on last tuesday when visiting my home town for a rehearsal...

From 2007, the first Zurich Trolleybus route, 31, was changed to Double-articulated vehicles, followed by route 32 from 2012. Three additional vehicles have been delivered in 2018 for the extension of route 31 to Witikon, now built to the new tram-like Hess design. The buses are used on both routes, seen here on route 32 near the Strassenverkehrsamt Terminus.

It was commissioned in 2013 by Qbuzz in Groningen (number 3492), being transferred to Utrecht in 2016 (number 4220). In 2023 it was sold to Womy Equipment Supply BV, a second-hand vehicle trading company.

Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ): the double articulated trolleybus number 86 (Hess BGGT-N2D lighTram / Longo 2, with electrical equipment from Kiepe) working a service in the city line 31.
It is part of a series of 14 trolleybuses put into service between 2012 and 2014 (numbers 78-91).
Transports publics fribourgeois Trafic SA (TPF): the articulated trolleybus number 6602 (Hess LighTram 19 DC, with ABB electrical equipment), working a service in the city line 1 to Portes-de-Fribourg.
It is part of a series of ten trolleybuses of this model (numbers 6601-6610) put into service in 2020. They are also equipped with batteries, which are charged on the move, to be able to run beyond the electrified lines. For this reason, these trolleybuses also have license plates (FR-301542 in the case of 6602).

After seeing a post by Rienk Mebius yesterday (www.flickr.com/photos/rienkmebius/30104791123), I decided to go to Utrecht myself and have a look. The first differnce for me was the new bus stations to the west of the station, with the eastern bus station now being non-existant.
Three of these Hess double-bendy buses operating in the city, having transferred from Groningen in August. They are used on the services 12 and 28 to the Uithof University campus. This was new as Qbuzz 3490.

One of RVBW's Hess lighTram(R)12OPP buses is climbing the steep streets towards Baldegg on a typically foggy November day . The four electric buses were introduced in service in June 2021. The first days of usage brought various (software) problems to the light due to which the buses had to be taken out of service. After most issues had been fixed by november 2021 the buses are back in use.
