My Easter tulips were the subject on this day of photo snaps. It is too cold and windy to get outside and I was just not up to going outside.

The light in the east window of my dining room seemed to be just right for some fun back lightiing. I normally don't do over exposure, but in this case I think it works.

Judge's Comments : Judge liked Emily. Her look works. It looks like she's looking out of shot. Nice space on left. Nose is a little too light. Nice Pastel soft lightiing.

First, let me start off by saying I have no idea what this means. It was on the box that my wife's knives came in and it looked cool so that is all I needed to know. I wanted to get some practice with my studio lightiing, so to get a floating effect I shot the gold leaf lettering on the black box against a black background, then dropped the black way down in post editing.

This is a discard from a shooting I made with a friend of mine last sunday in Versilia. It was early morning and the sky was overcast, the light was perfect. I used two speedlites to light up the model, one with a diffudion umbrella and the other with a softbox. Edited in PS CS5 and Color efex pro. Hope you like it!

"New Baby Lightiing Our World"

This is my new nephew (Son of my sister), he was born few days ago...god bless him and his parent.

Strobist Info: 580EX II through white umbrella camera right in TTL mode, another 580EX II with pink gel in TTL mode for the background.

Triggered via PoketWizard Mini TT1 and Flex TT5.

para esta foto tirei 7 fotogramas, espaçados em 1 EV entre eles, com o intuito de fazer um HDR.

Após experimentar vários programas para o efeito, e sem que nenhum deles conseguisse aquilo que eu pretendia, acabei por, dessas 7 fotos, usar apenas 3.

essas 3 foram abertas no Photoshop CS4 em RAW, ajustadas (particularmente a aberração cromática, muito evidente graças á grande diferença de luz) e montadas como 3 layers.

a partir daí foram muitas seleções, feathers, refine edges, transparencys, etc até atingir o que pretendia ,) não existe aqui nenhuma alteração de cores e de saturação, apenas vários "fragmentos" de cor misturados, resultantes das diferentes exposições.

for this particular photo, I took 7 shots, 1 EV apart from each othe, in order to cover the full lattitude of exposure.

after experimenting with a few HDR software's, I gave up, and took just 3 of the 7 shots, wich I then oppened in RAW in Photoshop CS4. After adjusting the 3, especially for chromatic aberrations, typical for such high-contrast lightiing) I merged them in one file as diferent layers.

Then it took a lot of selections, feathers, refine edges, blurs, transparencys, etc to get to this point that I wanted.

No other adjustment either in color or saturation was made.

What you seen is result of the various "mixes" of colors of the diferent exposures.

Week 35 / 52 theme is "imperfect". This sunflower is anything but perfect & well past the "sell by" date. The lightiing is from a high power flashlight to make the sunflower pop. Edits in Lightroom Classic CC.

Sunday was a day of food and drink pictures at Thirteen at the Marriott in Philly(sorry about the music).

They're trying to advertise their new menu of drinks and meals and I had a good time with softboxes making this all happen.

Micro breweries have these big tanks--but a`s you can see the heat vents coming out of this one--it doesn't function in the brewing of the beer. Taken with point and shoot-no flash--no way to control the lighting.
