This lighthouse was commissioned at Mahabalipuram in 1887. The lighthouse with a circular masonry tower made of natural stone became fully functional in 1904. The historic South Stack Lighthouse is located on a small island reached via a descent of 400 steps down the steep mainland cliffs.
Visitors may tour the former lighthouse engine room before climbing to the top of the lighthouse. South Stack is a wonderful place to watch thousands of breeding seabirds including guillemots, razorbills and puffins.
Tours of South Stack Lighthouse are organised by South Stack Ynys Lawd Ltd. under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House.

McCrae Lighthouse Playground is located on Point Nepean Road, McCrae on the foreshore.
The playground is adjacent to the iconic Mc Crae lighthouse, and within easy access of the beach.
The main focal point of the playground is a circular (10 sided) climbing structure which has a mini lighthouse, climbing options include a mini rock wall, scramble net chain, and regular stairs with hand rails
A three metre slide comes off the structure, which also includes other minor features for young children such as a wave mirror, crawl hole, play binoculars, clock panel, abacus and musical chimes. (Mornington Penisula Shire website)
This was taken on a hot summer's afternoon, children preferred to play indoors, hence the playground was relatively quiet and peaceful. It was rather appealing to lighthouse lovers like me.
It's not the tallest, or the most dramatic but I think Perch Rock lighthouse at the mouth of the River Mersey is one of the prettiest. It's a proper lighthouse.

HISTORY OF THE WOOD ISLANDS LIGHTHOUSE
The Wood Islands Lighthouse was founded in 1876 to aid marine traffic in the Northumberland Strait between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, as well as fishing boats in and around the harbour. It is the second oldest lighthouse, with an attached dwelling and tower of this style, on Prince Edward Island.

Today this Lighthouse is an Interpretive Museum with 10-plus themed rooms featuring historical displays from the Rum-Running era to the Burning/Phantom Ship. A must for Lighthouse Lovers!

Leuchturm Ellenbogen/List Ost auf der Insel Sylt. Aufgrund seiner Nähe zu einer Steilkante galt der Leuchtturm List Ost noch um 2003 als absturzgefährdet, seit etwa 2007 ist die Küstenerosion der Steilkante jedoch zum Stillstand gekommen.

Portland Bill Lighthouse is a functioning lighthouse at Portland Bill, on the Isle of Portland, in Dorset.
The lighthouse and its boundary walls are Grade II Listed.
