South spire of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California taken after dark on a night with the fog hovering at the top of the spires.
I caught the sun shining through one of the windows in the lantern on the top floor of the little castle at Bolsover Castle and liked the starburst effect so I positioned myself to make it as large and as striking as possible.

WITH SINCERE THANKS: 💕
Sending out gratitude to those who follow my photostream and FAVE my images. Of course, the awards and comments are lovely, too. I'm grateful for ALL of it! Thanks so much! ♡
The theme this week was set by....ME!
Long exposure or slow shutter speed photography. As usual I've left it until the last minute to produce my image.
25 second exposure of the A3052 with the city of Exeter in the background and a light-painted tree in the foreground. A slightly higher f-stop ensures that the bright lights from Greendale Farm Shop off to the left have a nice flare to them. To further enhance the image I ran it through Photomatix and then selective colour popped it.

Got a bit of light flare but I thought it looked like the wheel was bringing it rather than water!
The wheel wasn't actually turning but I liked the effect and have tried to enhance it a bit for Sliders Sunday.
Thanks to my bro for pressing the shutter (appreciated!)
Am I the only one who reckons my hair looks kinda like a flame?!
A shot from last October - messing about in the warm sunshine (yes it was still warm then!) Shooting the harvest, I tried looking through a crystal sphere and caught the fence line!
Happy Fence Friday, and a wonderful weekend too ;o)

For the Macro Mondays challenge “Four Elements” (May 6th 2019)
It sounded easy - choose one or more of Aristotle's 4 elements, earth, air, fire, and water and represent it in a macro using the 3" size maximum.
I wanted to try Earth, and found myself questioning just what Aristotle included. Just earth and rocks (geological elements) or is it everything that is made of what we think of as 'matter'? All plants, trees, animals ... the entire flora and fauna of the planet? Including everything that lives in the sea (water) ....? I found myself online chasing through philosophical and scientific debates and texts. Fascinating, but maybe not helpful for my photographic choices!
I started off wanting to use sea-sand as it is beautiful and sparkles under the Macro gaze. It fits neatly, as it is derived from rocks, and acted on by water to produce the fine granules. So one, maybe two elements represented there? But then I added a sea-shell, to give more shape and texture to the image. OK I'd call it Earth, but might it be water-based? Maybe I am over-thinking Aristotle ;o)

For the 52 in 2017 group. week#28 "Bubbles"
Shot taken on July 13th 2017.
Having fun in the sunshine, blowing bubbles, and seeing if any of them would give me a rainbow! Nestled in a small Japanese dish ... I guess it is a bowl full of nothing, just air ;o)
