Had to go to this apartment to "fluff" their chandelier. Got some great city shots from their balcony (which is where I took this shot, looking back into the kitchen / breakfast area.)

Before the dinner party really got hopping, Ugglan posed a challenge of taking an "interesting" photo of the light fixture. It wasn't as easy as it sounds. But with some experimentation I managed to come up with this trippy shot, which seemingly transforms my cup of pear cider (YUM) to an abstract absinthe like image.

New light fixtures in the entrance hallway (installed a couple of weeks ago, ordered a couple of months before that). I originally intended the blue ones for the central hall and the clear ones for the entrance hall, but it turns out that the clear ones are really BRIGHT so I put them in the hallway that has a dimmer switch. This actually works out fine, since the blue accents in the kitchen are visible from the hall.

new fan in - it sure is nice to have it done, but we bought 2, so Matt's office is yet to come.

Also, look your last on this awful wall color. I hated it since they day I slathered on the first brush-full. Watch for updates later this year...

The dandelion seedhead reminded me of the fabulous light balls in the cafe at London's Victoria & Albert Museum. They in turn make me think of neurons firing in a massive brain.

Frank Lloyd Wright designed the arbor to curve around the tree instead of removing the tree or moving the arbor.

An experiment in lighting... literally.

Staduim lights are notorius sources of glare at night. It's hazardous to drivers and discourteous to neighbors for miles and miles.

If they would use glare shields like the ones pictured above, there'd be less light pollution, less light tresspass and less glare.
