The Stainless Steel Frames are 1st wrapped/clad in Muslin.

Later a Composite is made with Rice papers, adhesives,Fire Retardant Chemicals, and then sealed and sanded and sealed again.

The final effect is like Parchment, or Velum.

These will be mounted to a Stainless Steel "pan" /backplate- that will hold the bulbs to the wall- and allow the "shade" to be removed for changing the bulbs.

The House of Hospitality Building is the park's Visitor's Center.

What would become Balboa Park was dedicated on May 26, 1868, when a 1400 acre tract of nine city pueblo lots was set aside by the City of San Diego. San Diego's population was 2,301 people and there were only 915 houses at this time.

The development of Balboa Park began in earnerst for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915-16, and extended to the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935-36.

The theme of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition was to celebrate man's progress and achievements. The Cabrillo Bridge and most of the Cultural Center "Buildings" along El Prado were built for the Exposition under the supervision of Bertram Grovesnor Goodhue (Los Angeles Central Library and the Nebraska State Capitol).

Balboa Park is on the National Register #77000331, and it is also a National Historic Landmark.

The Jellico Motel, just off I-75, Jellico, Tennessee. I haven't been able to determine exactly when it closed, but it appears to still have been in business in at least 2014.

TOP: right shoulder. My cat Beasley grabbed my arm. He had just been hit by a car and I was carrying him to the vet. He knew he was dying. MIDDLE LEFT: sternum. Mole removed by a doctor who told me, "Good thing you're married. Then I wont' worry about the scar this will leave. Only your husband will see it." Little did he know he left a small heart shaped mole. MIDDLE: nose. Car accident. I hydroplaned on the freeway and a barrier. My face went into the steering wheel. This was before airbags. RIGHT: right leg. I sat on a pair of scissors. Seriously. BOTTOM LEFT: left ankle. A terrible Big Wheel accident while babysitting. RIGHT: left foot. When I was 5, I sliced my foot on a broken ceramic collar for a light fixture. It was on the basement floor and probably is STILL on the basement floor. No one cleans anything at my parent's house.

Now. Don't you know me SO much better?

At the north-east corner, we have a kumquat tree. All four citrus have uplights. The stair at the north edge leads up to the elm room and is well lit, as is the floor of the garden.

Part of the first municipal stairs in Amman.

When Amman was declared the capital of Transjordan in 1921, royalty, wealthy families, businessmen, army officers, and politicians began moving onto the hill to the west and above downtown, named Jabal Amman. It slowly declined starting in the 1960s as development continued to move west. In 2005, the Greater Amman Municipality recognized Jabal Amman as a 'heritage attraction point' and set forth plans to preserve and develop the historic hill.

The one-of-a-kind flower chandelier completes the unique scheme.
